The Metaphysics of the Economy

With the economy trudging and sludging along, every self appointed expert has rushed to judgment and prophecy. Now, the press is even reporting on how they're not at fault . Comedy has a way of taking the strangest form. But let's take a step back and think about metaphysics.

The word affluence comes from the root word "affluere", meaning "to flow to". The actual word affluence means "to flow in abundance". In reality, money is just a symbol of the life energy we exchange with life on a daily basis. A way to keep score, some would say.

Another word for money is "currency" which also reflects the flowing nature of energy. Currency is rooted in the Latin word "currere" meaning "to run or to flow".

Therefore, if we stop the circulation of money and simply hoard it, we stop its ability to circulate back into our lives as well. In order to keep that energy coming to us, we have to keep it circulating. Like a river, if money doesn't flow it stagnates, clogging, suffocation and strangling occure. It begins to choke on its own power and life force.

Circulation, though rarely spoken of is the paramount regenaration facet of any and all organisms, even something large and complicated like the economy of an industrialized nation.

What we have as the primary problem today isn't a stagnant economy. Our problem is that people are afraid. They are afraid of not being able to find work, provide themselves and their loved ones with shelter and create an outlook for the future. Throughout human history we have been self reliant. Even in the times of monarchies, we had land to work, which gave us subsistence.

Who was in charge at any given point was never as crucial as man's need to stay active and productive. This is the aspect of the human condition that ALL economic theories since Adam Smith have blissfully ignored.

Today, we are seeing problems because people cannot find jobs, as we have become too reliant on the employee mentality. While many companies sit on top of cash piles, they fail to realize that by not reinvesting in this "metaphysical" aspect of the economy, they are slowly but surely chopping the tree they pick from.

All relationships in life are give and take. The notion that simply working hard will get you by is patently false. Giving and receiving do beget each other. What goes up, eventually must come down. There is nothing wrong with the fact that we are in a "come down phase", what is wrong is that as a society we have ceased to respect this flow and transfer of energy for it's basic regenerative necessity.

Stopping this flow is the cause of our stagnation and fear is at its root. We can't sit on a website and blab a metamorphosis into happening. We can, however, make a conscious movement in our own lives.

The old rules still apply, start to live...before you die.

The flow of money and its circulation is a common argument about holding gold.

They teach useless bullshit in high school. Everyone should have a couple econ classes so they can understand the world around them.

Definitely agree with that Economics should be a compulsory subject or just come into other compulsory subjects idk about the US but we had to study a subject called life skills in uk yet there was nothing in there about economics just the regular stuff that you already know about STD's etc

Harum qui doloribus quam dolores. Rem ut earum voluptates autem at atque eveniet. Quaerat fugit eos sapiente quibusdam magnam. Labore placeat tenetur quis magni et blanditiis totam. Aliquid rerum repellendus illum eos sunt odit.

If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses - Henry Ford
