9/80 work schedule. Week 1 - 9,9,9,9,8, Week 2 - 9,9,9,9,off. Schedule is standard where I work, I also here it is pretty common from some of my oil and gas friends in TX. It is really nice work to have every other weekend as a three day weekend.

that is cot damn amazing. so that is just how it is - you didn't need to request it?

i am sure that it won't fly where i am, at least not now. we're casual but too small to do something like this (though i see no reason why it wouldn't work, we'd have to somehow convince the powers that be).

 

Haha.. yeah, at my B4 it's more of a 5/10 work week, during modestly busy times. Obviously busy season ramps up, but even in the "slow" summer, I find myself doing 5/9s - and no opportunity to not work each day.
