Good telecom consulting company. They recruit mostly at Ivies and MIT so probably some sharp guys. Doubt that it is well known like MBB or Booz, LEK etc. though. Try to articulate why you are interested in the TMT space, especially telecom as that 90% of their focus. Their interviews are a bit longer than other consulting firms (45 minutes or so). Think about the subscription/advertising based telecom model and how that might play our for case questions

went to final rounds. their office is sick. at least a third of the people i met there studied engineering in college, so a lot of smart people. they dont really ask you about your interest in telecom in the interview. and they dont assume you have any knowledge of it. the interview process is pretty similar to MBB except maybe longer and more interesting cases.

Haven't worked there but it appears to be involved in some of the more cutting edge stuff in TMT industries. Appears to have a fairly quantitative lean to it - like intense MatLab models for market forecasting/customer acquisition/attrition forecasting applications. I have met 3 people from there - 2 were smart and friendly, 1 was neither. Also, the senior people all look very impressive on paper.

To find exit opps on Linkedin you can go to "Advanced Search" and search Altman Vilandrie under "Past not Current" to see where people have gone, seems to be a pretty strong mix of top MBA programs, strategy arms of tech companies, and VCs: http://www.linkedin.com/search/fpsearch?company=Altman+Vilandrie&curren…PNC&searchLocationType=I&countryCode=us&keepFacets=keepFacets&page_num=1&pplSearchOrigin=ADVS&viewCriteria=1&sortCriteria=R&redir=redir

Bump - curious how Altman's reputation is seen as from the general consulting world. I've been on Linkedin but I'm curious how hard it is to transition from Altman to tech firms, PE firms, MBB, MBA? Obvi Altman is a boutique so it's brand recognition isn't great, but I've heard its a top firm for what it does. Any ex-Altman here? Would love to chat
