Career Resources
I would invest it in the stock market, real estate or simply put it in the bank (savings, cd, etc).
of course, if you don't want to take this route, you could always go on vacation anywhere.
i agree
Bear market....time to buy.....hopefully there will be a little bit left over for the previously mentioned vacation as well.
Going to the West Indies to watch the next cricket world cup and enjoy the pleasent weather escaping the gloomy rough weather in London.
Feel like pampering yourself, or bored of working on a comp at 2 am? Check out this site: http://www.xperiencedays.com
Can't be too bad.
I love the idea. best up till now by far.
Who in their right mind thinks this is a bear market?
well that post was from about a year ago
he was right it was a pretty good time to buy
wine fridge, week in napa and sonoma, and a few cases of cakebread and stags leap
I second that.
Get as far from the office as possible. You've worked hard, reward yourself a little for all the time an effort.
why would you want to get far from the office
buy a bed
nuff said...would be nice to actually have time to watch it though
and women
and boys
I'd definitely fly to Germany and buy tickets from scalpers for all the England and Germany National team games until they meet each other in the finals
you heard me. artwork baby. originals.
two week vacation and investing the rest
Night out on the town.
Spend a week in Bermuda catching up on your sleep.
a few ideas:
-an hour massage from a professional (happy ending optional) -a motorcycle...come on, do you really care if you die? -down payment on a Ferrari -or you could be smart and invest it
going to invest it all.....don't know how long I will be paid like this
bn
Go to Dubai!!!
I'm pouring the lot into real estate and funds (merger arb, index) so I dont have to do this IB thing for ever....
Dubai is unreal. You could stay at the world of islands, the underwater hotel or the seven star hotel that tiger woods hit golf balls off the top of
buy a car
a car
Blow 5% of the bonus on a one night bender, put 25% of it into a weeklong trip, and invest the other 70%...hopefully you will have a big enough bonus that the 25% can get you somewhere nice, otherwise just spend more and invest less.
buy a car
Vintage Cartier watch
Now we're talking. Ideally you'd inherit one but if that's not the case then buying a vintage is the way to go. They're not even that expensive.
vanguard. no time to do e-trade myself..
plasma (maybe lcd) tv
Although I'd like to visit Dubai at some point in time, once the tallest building in the world is finished, etc...I can imagine Dubai being more commercialized than the New York, New York hotel in Vegas on New Years.
My vote...French Polynesia.

Just watch out for the sharks...
Ok I'll bite, I wish I had a job that paid a bonus.
hookers and beer
There's always some sort of nutty shit being constructed there. I mean, there's a tennis court near the top of that "Sail" building. My only questions is, as an avid tennis player, what happens when a ball gets over the fence? Is it neccessary to alert the people who might be below you to look out for falling objects?
"-a motorcycle...come on, do you really care if you die?"
this is the funniest fucking thing in the entire thread, and i feel like i'm the only one who noticed.
on a much more serious note, i'd recommend doing something like this: if your bonus is $65k, for exmaple, get ten $6500 hookers (clean, pretty ones) over the course of 12 hrs. or, if you're really ambitious, twenty for $3,250 each over 12 hrs. you'd sacrifice some quality, but my god what a feat that would be. and don't tell me it can't be done: that's 1 or 2 hookers per hour. so it's not that time is a problem; it's whether or not you have the endurance.
A cucumber, some vaseline, a rubber glove and a condom
Saving for B-school could make sense. First to pay for it and then to be able to live properly once enrolled.
buy a banana...
but where does one get 6500 dollar hookers? aren't these called girlfriends usually?
you might want to take a look at prosper.com
A big pile of money under the bed
save it
Pension for tax-sheltering purposes, emergency savings, ROTH IRA invest, and $5000 to blow
id buy a million dollar car. You couldn't pull me over, and even if you did I'd activate my car's wings and I'd fly away.
hahahahaha. I love that.

Bonus Idea #536: Charter Branson's Yacht (Originally Posted: 01/07/2010)
Those with a little bonus money burning a hole in their pocket have a new toy to consider. Sir Richard Branson is making his stately yacht, the Necker Belle, available for charter. For the low, low rate of $88,000 a week, the yacht can be yours.
The catamaran has 4 cabins that accommodate 8 passengers (plus 2 more can crash on the couch in the salon if you're splitting the charter among frat buddies). Included are a speedboat with water skis and wakeboards, a fully equipped fishing station with fighting chair, SCUBA gear, and a 6-foot diving board on the top of the aft deck. You'll be served by this crew of 6: but when your week is up, they get to stay and wait for the next group of working stiffs to pony up ninety grand.
That would be pretty sweet minus the crew. However a catamaran with 4 cabins must be pretty diesel, so I suppose it beats having 9 buddies learn to sail.
All I want from that fool is his pad with the outdoor toilet.
What's the point of stacking whale chips if the world doesn't have to watch you dropping wolf bait?
Branson's yacht is a waste of money.

Lots of good deals between 25k-50k.
You mean Necker Island http://www.neckerisland.virgin.com/ with the outdoor toilet! Saw it on cribs.
How are you investing/spending your Bonus? (Originally Posted: 02/10/2011)
Most bonuses have been paid, so how are you investing yours, or how will you invest/spend it once you get one? Placing it in the bank/under a mattress? Splurging on a car or other crap that depreciates? Putting in a down payment on an investment property? In the markets? models and bottles(wife and kids)?
The season is afoot, let's revive this thread. My list:
Breguet Classique Regulator. Apple I-Phone. Annual driving range membership at Chelsea Piers. Bottle service at Cain. Unforgettable night at Scores. Throw a bum $100. VEGAS the RIGHT way. Back to work...
This is why we do this job.
most people on these boards are analysts or younger and not paid on the february cycle.....
(y)
Granted, but are you not even planning what you will do with a possible bonus? I guess if your 23 you'll just giggle ridiculously and splurge it on crap for a job well done for the past 16 years at school.
Markets guys get their numbers in feb..
All the above? (except that thing in parentheses)
Squatty Potty
You're going to "spend" a lot of it on taxes. Personally I'd say take a nice little trip somewhere pleasant with some of it and bank the rest.
How about saving it for 3-4 years and open up a franchise by studying the market in your region
