Nomura & Value of International Experience

Hey guys, I have two unrelated questions.

I. was just curious about Nomura's reputation -- what banks is it on par with?

  1. When applying for banking and trading internships/jobs in the US, what kind of value is placed on experience abroad? I was thinking of maybe trying to get an internship somewhere abroad over December break.

Thanks.

For the first one in terms of Asian operations, I just had interviews with nomura bankers for an HK position and they said they are currently top of league table in M&A for now...and added they are integrating quite well with lehman in at least the area of corp fin.

i had interviews with two bankers too. they were pretty nice. i really liked their style. did you guys hear back from them? do you guys already have offers or are you betting on this one?

Well, first one went really well. Not so sure about the second one, it got kinda quiet at the end, I felt like we just didn't have anything to talk about, haha... Anyway, let's keep each other updated

ya they are real nice

yet I m not quite sure too... for one of them the whole process lasted for less than 20 minutes...i did ask a couple of questions - which meant his part lasted for only ard 12-15 minutes. the other was like more than a double though.
