STC vs. Knopman Series 63 and Series 79 -- which is the most up to date / better material?
Hi guys,
Wondering what is your opinion on which is the most up to date / better material to prepare for the 63 and 79. Also can I share with someone else? Or is it optimal for every analyst to get their own.
Thanks.
I didn't realize people actually studied for these, I thought you just take the practice test and wing it. :)
Hi RonaldBacon, I am interested in your s79 study material. Can you reply at springbreeze0506 hotmail? Thanks.
Just passed fairly easily using STC. You could certainly share with someone but why not have your own if your bank is paying??
Thanks for your response. Did you use the STC for both the 63 and 79? and which package / what materials did you use? Yea good point I was just curious.
I used STC for both 63 and 79. Studied ~20 hrs for 63 and ~50 hrs for 79. Don't waste time reading the books. Go straight to the questions.
Hi scgrad, I am interested in your s79 study material. Can you reply at springbreeze0506 hotmail? Thanks
I used knopman marks for 63 and 79. I got an 82 and an 86. The material was very helpful.
Hi Jose, I am interested in your s79 study material. Can you reply at springbreeze0506 hotmail? Thanks
DO NOT underestimate these tests they are both very easy to fail! I’d budget 80-100 hours on the 79 and 20 or so for the 63.
The only thing to use for 79 is knopman make sure you take several practice exams.
The 63 is tricky as hell. I used both knopman (rebranded Kaplan) and STC. Also take several practice exams that’s the only way you learn both.
Passed with 86 on 79 and 82 on 63. Huge relief to pass both on first try because the whole firm will know your results.
how would the whole firm know your results? Couldn't you just redo the test, don't need to broadcast you failed.
They will look you up on broker check. If you are on it, you passed, if not, you failed.
Is the STC 79 not sufficient material?
I had both STC and Knopman. Obviously STC 79 is sufficient as many banks use these materials, but I found the knopman to be really well presented and highly relevant.
