Exit opportunities for Federal Human Capital Consulting at a Big 4 firm?
I am a graduating college senior and have an offer to work at a Big 4 firm doing federal human capital consulting, and I'm looking to gain analytical skills that would help me exit into an industry job in NYC after a year or so. However, I know that some say federal and human capital can lead to you getting pigeonholed into that career. Do you think it's feasible/a good idea to take this job and then exit into a marketing, e-commerce, or similarly analytical industry job in NYC or will hiring from those private sectors not be interested in me because I worked human capital/federal? My other option is rejecting this offer and waiting to apply directly into industry jobs in the spring, granted these would probably pay less and possibly be less prestigious but I would be interested if they would set me up better than working at the Big 4 firm.
