Has anyone one heard back? I received an email from them today but i'm trying to figure out if its real or not. It stated I had to complete another HireVue by Sunday but never received the addition hirevue email. The beginning stated : I received an email today about an addition hirevue but it seems to be just like the original. It stated: Congratulations on being selected to submit a first round HireVue interview for the Goldman Sachs Early Careers Recruiting Process! Please see below for next steps and action items.

I applied to four, two have interview as the app status and the other two have Resume Under Review. The two that have Interview are Investing and Client Services/Sales Support in NYC and the other two that have Resume Under Review are Trading/Quantitative Modeling and Sales.

I have interview listed for Fin modeling and Research and resume under review for Sales. I received both hirevues after my status changed to resume under review. Does the app status change to "Interview" mean selection for a superday or was that to reflect the hirevue? Any idea.

I was wondering the same thing. I saw it change to "interview" but Im not sure if that means that the hirevue is completed or if you were selected for a superday. I think the virus is slowing things a little bit, especially since no one is hiring at the moment and Goldman sachs has asked half of its staff to work from home. This process will probably take a lot longer than anticipated.

Yeah things will definitely be pushed out. Been trying to find out the answer to that question on other forums but not much luck. Im thinking it means a potential superday/moving on to the next round considering the day after both my applications went to "resume under review" I received the hirevues, then over a week after the hirevue was completed it changed to "interview" but who knows. Think its a good thing regardless.

I do as well The other two skills that stats previously states "Resume Under Review" were changed the 16th to interview and I submitted my original HireVue on the 2nd. On the website it did states in on a rolling basis but like you two said this virus is going to stretch out the process. Listen I'm trying to think of the positives here and our apps were updated. But I do agree it is a step in the right direction.

Hello, I received an invite to a HireVue interview for an Early Careers role. To those who have already sat this interview, could you please share the kinds of questions asked? Were there any technical questions? What sort of behavioural questions should I expect (general motivation/ fit or the ones asking to cite examples to demonstrate specific competencies)? I would greatly appreciate any input.

I applied for investing. For anyone who applied for financial modeling and research - do you guys have a background in this? If so, how many years. I want to apply and i have a little background in this but not enough to be competitive. I wonder if they will be providing training for the people they hire.

Fin Modeling was behavioral, don't remember specifics. From was the recruiter told me this is a relatively new program at the bank, I believe there is a formal training program.

What offices did you all apply for? I just received an email from the Client Services / Sales Support role and it stated "Thank you for applying to an Operations role earlier this year. At this time, if you have not heard from the recruiting team directly, we will not be moving forward with your application for this particular role." Now I applied to that skill set just to try and get my foot in the door but would rather Investing or Trading/Quantitative Modeling which were just updated. Wanted to just give you all a heads up. Also they haven't updated the App status either still says Interview. So it seems they are behind on updating those.

I applied to Investing (2/16), Financial Modeling/Research (2/16), Sales (3/7), Trading/Quantitative Modeling (3/7), and Client Services/Sales Support (3/7) all in NYC.

On the Career site, my statuses are: Financial Modeling/Research - Currently Not Being Considered (2/24), Investing - Resume Under Review (3/10), Client Services/Sales Support - Resume Under Review (3/12), Sales - Applied (3/7), and Trading/Quantitative Modeling - Applied (3/7).

I got an email yesterday (3/19) that I have a HireVue interview. So is this interview for Investing and Client Services/Sales Support?

Also, does anyone know what exactly this program is? Will the new hires be starting over the summer with the full-time analysts recruited during their final year of undergrad? Will there be a training program specific for this Early Careers program?

Also, literally what kind of people do you all think they're looking for? So many questions and so many unknowns...

I think its most likely for investing and client services. And I agree there are a lot of unknowns with this - if they are hiring people with 0-3 years of experience its hard to believe that they will not train them. But with everything going on right now, i dont know if they will hire the same amount of people they planned to and when we will hear back for a superday.

I just got a Hirevue interview today for Investing--checked my dashboard but it's still "resume under review" but other positions are "not being considered" so I'm assuming this is for Investing? How was your interview? Any technical questions?

I think they wont be sending out super day invites until this thing with the virus calms down. Everyones work from home now in NYC and I highly doubt interviews will be conducted on skype.

So just got an email on Thursday that I have HireVue interviews for Early Careers due Sunday (tomorrow) night. I applied to Trading, Data Development, Business Finance, Investing, Sales, and Fin modeling. Checked my GS careers portal and it says I didn't apply to any jobs?? Emailed their support so hoping to have an answer about whats happening.... but assume its just a tech glitch.

Anyone have any tips? This is my first HireVue.

When I checked the Career Portal page via the link in the email with the HireVue invite, it also said that I hadn't applied to any jobs. When I used the link to the Career Portal in one of the old "Thank you for applying to Early Careers" emails, all of the apps were on there. So if you still have the old auto-emails that you received wen you submitted your apps, try using the link in one of those! Hope this helps

I got the HireVue email but it's still "resume under review" instead of "interview"--guess it's gonna change to "interview" after I submit the video interview?

I did my hirevue March 7th. Like others on this thread, my status on GS careers page recently changed from “resume under review” to “interview” on March 20/21. But I can’t imagine we’ll hear back about a super day anytime soon. As for the early careers program, in GS fashion, I’d imagine they were planning on bringing in a “class of analysts” and doing some kind of training first.

But all firms have put new hires on hold. I recently had a final round interview with another BB in NYC and they’ve delayed on giving offer letters... Also, they had planned to interview a few other candidates but I had been in the city prior to the WFH environment and was able to conduct an interview early.

Most Helpful

Sure- I applied to sales, investing, and trading (NYC).

As for my experience, I’m a recent graduate in the time frame you mentioned. Interned at a large IB doing AM/PWM. Then transitioned to a boutique, mainly because the pay was greater and I was given more responsibility while still attending university. But, I’d recommend sticking with the big brand names. Firms/recruiters seem to care more about that when you’re young.

But the GS early careers program seems to be focused more towards candidates with a non-traditional background. Basically, people who got lost in the cracks of recruiting. It’s a good way to bring in kids from non-target schools or anyone who is a viable candidate at a cheap cost.

I haven't but I anticipate that it'll be sometime until we hear something. I've heard that summer internships (that people received offers for before the pandemic) haven't been rescinded and many are doing their summer training initially. So I think there's still hope. But for the next few months, I think New York will still be in a pretty dire situation so idk what will happen for recruiting for those positions

When exactly did GS unveil this program?

If you get into "Early Careers | Investing" are you going to get placed into Merchant Banking or Goldman Sachs Asset Management and which subgroup are you placed into?

Array

Based on my understanding, you only know which group you could get placed into if you get invited to a superday. They probably determine who you interview with based on your resume and need.

When you received an interview, were one of the emails sent from the NY Early Careers recruiting email? I applied to positions in both the SLC and NYC offices, and received a hirevue invite and an email from the NY Early Careers recruiting email. When I checked the portal, only the application for the SLC office shows “Interview” status. The NYC applications just say “Applied”. I thought the NYC email address indicated that the hirevue was for the NYC locations?

My status says "Interview" for "Early Careers | Product Management and Marketing | New York"

Given everything going on with COVID-19, I really hope they don't cancel superday but rather postpone it until things situate.

They probably wouldn't do a virtual superday right?

does anyone know if an “interview” status means you’ve been offered a super day? I received an email from HR a couple weeks after submitting the HireVue but haven’t heard back yet although the date was updated on the dashboard a few days later which I assume is a good thing...anyone experiencing the same thing?

same thing with me but no emails or specific info on moving forward. all the positions I applied for are in NYC so I anticipate not hearing for a while considering the havoc covid is wreaking on the city

the email noted that HR will reach out to the team and revert back if they are interested but as everyone pointed out in this thread, this will likely not happen for some time until things cool down in the city unless for some odd reason they would want to do a virtual super day which I’m sure they wouldn’t do in my opinion..

Application Portal still shows "Interview" as the Status, but my Last Update date has changed from 3/5 to yesterday (4/6), but still no email update. I reckon we'll start getting those once the virus subsides.

My application is for Dallas by the way.

Does anyone know how many is the max/ok number positions to apply to and if it is bad to apply to some and withdraw? A few months ago I kinda just logged in and applied to like 6 different positions without taking it too seriously. Once I started seeing a few positions that actually interested me I applied to like 2 more including an early careers one, and withdrew from the rest. I would like to apply to one early careers more, but I don't know if this is going to fire up my *. Appreciate the advice

So I just got the following email with the subject "Early Careers Recruiting Update."

"We appreciate you taking the time to complete your Goldman Sachs Early Careers HireVue. We have enjoyed becoming familiar with your candidacy, and will continue to consider you for opportunities aligned to your skillset(s) of interest. We operate on a rolling basis as roles become available across the firm, so we’ll be sure to reach out regarding potential next steps if relevant opportunities arise."

I'm assuming this is a rejection email? Two of my applications in the portal still have "Interview" as their status, but I'm guessing that they just haven't updated the system yet?

I received the same email. Now, I don't know if i'm trying to be positive or what but I'm not sure if it is a rejection email since last month I received an actually rejection from them. Not unless they don't want to seem as harsh with the virus but last months stated:

"Thank you for applying to an Operations role earlier this year. At this time, if you have not heard from the recruiting team directly, we will not be moving forward with your application for this particular role."

My applications also still have "interview" as their status also. So only time will tell my friends.

I wouldn’t think this is a rejection email considering they have sent one in the past to others in this forum. I got the same thing this morning and hope it’s a status update given everything that’s happening with the virus so people don’t simply just think they’ve been ghosted...

anyone hear back from HR about a team being interested? the individual from HR i was communicating with never reverted back to me so not sure if i wasn’t a good candidate for the role or given the environment today, people haven’t had time to interview given working from home has been delaying a lot of matters

Havent received the email everyone got today yet, nor has my app status been updated since the end of march with app status sitting as "Interview." Hopefully will get more color this week.

my status was updated yesterday for nyc, still says 'interview', never received the email discussed above. not sure if that means anything or not.

I'm not sure if this is very useful because I applied for the Compliance early careers role, but they are still doing superdays. I had mine in March and the recruiter reached out and said the process was just on hold, but they would reach out with an update once everything slows down.

Anyone else get added to a division? I'm still at "interview" for research/modelling and got a "continue application" link to data governance which I did and now its at "interview" for both. Updated 4/20/20 on both.

I had a very similar thing happen to me. Interviewed for the Investing role back on 03/31, had it read as interview as of that date ever since. Today, I happened to check for the first time in a few days and it had changed to "last updated today" as well as provided another application (Sales) that I don't recall beginning. I guess they're suggesting a role for me based off my interview? I have no clue.

All I can be confident of is this whole process is likely thrown off for obvious reasons.

I applied for two roles in NYC (Sales & Client Services Sales Support). I did my Hirevue March 1st, & the status still says "interview" but I noticed they changed the dates. I saw that they recently "updated" it a few days ago, however it still says "interview". Anybody else here in the same boat? I feel like it is in limbo, but maybe that's just because of Covid-19? Anyone get invited to do an in person interview or phone interview in the upcoming weeks?

Thanks !!

Just got the same email outlined above but for Financial Modeling, NYC. Completed Hirevue on March 1.

Reached out to HR yesterday and was told they are currently not recruiting but will keep my resume on file for when opportunities open up.

I did my Hirevue and just now received another email saying "Congratulations on being selected to submit a first round HireVue interview for an Early Careers opportunity! We noticed that you have not yet completed your HireVue. There will be another chance to complete your submission."

I submitted my inteview 2 weeks ago and got a confirmation email for it. Did anyone get the same problem? This is for Dallas btw

Got a HireVue email on Thursday, to complete by the 10th. Applied to a bunch of the early careers positions in late March, all still say applied except for one that says "Resume Under Review" and has a last update date of 5/8/2020. The role is in Chicago, but the email came from the @ny.email.gs address. Based on what I've read so far in this thread, it seems that's just the address that they use for the early careers interviews regardless of location. But who knows

Any kind person willing to share the HireVue questions or any insight? Really rough time for all of us recent-grads.

Hirevue questions were all behavioral for me. (And pretty standard behavioral questions at that... honestly don't remember what the exact questions were though, as I did mine almost 2 months ago I think). Definitely recommend doing the practice Hirevue questions that GS offers. Hope this helps!

If I haven’t heard anything from GS, is it safe to assume that I am simply not considered for the position? I applied for the product management & marketing role in Dallas.

Applied for Dallas role through referral Completed my hirevue interview yesterday and my status changed to “interview” today

Should I reach out to recruiter that I was in contact with as a follow up?

Same situation, status changed to Interview the day after submitting the HireVue. Probably just a lag in the status updating after being selected for the HireVue. Doesn't seem likely they'd review the submission within ~12 hours. Would love to be wrong and get a call/email about next steps, but not holding my breath.

I completed the process for sales/client services. They took a few weeks to get back to me and then just said they'll keep me in mind as positions open up, I guess that means I didn't get the role of there was one.

The interview for me was a bunch of behavioral stuff but I have to assume that's because my role isn't technical.

Did you do a SuperDay, or do you mean you got through the HireView and then they said they'll keep you in mind? I'm stuck in limbo between a HireView and Superday (virtual maybe?) invite so just curious.

I got an update today on the HireVue I gave last Sunday. The status of my original role is "Currently not being considered" but GS added another Early Careers role and marked the status of that as "Interview." Hopeful that this means a superday in the other position at least but who knows.

They reposted a bunch of the roles not sure if they didn’t find what they were looking for or want to compare more candidates with those of us in the “interview,” phase on the career site. Anyone have any idea about super day? It’s been like 3 months at this point.

Anyone have any updates? I just had my status change date update to today but I haven't heard anything in the week since my Hireview. No emails or communication. Bad news or just COVID related delays?

Any additional information regarding what his status was after he was invited? Currently my status was changed to "Interview" post submission of my HireVue. Unsure of whether that status is a receipt for HireVue or approval to next steps.

Can anyone tell me what this early career is. I checked the GS website and did not seem to find it. By the way, their new analyst program is going to hire in July.

Do you know what update status should be looking for? I did the HireVue and a few days later it was changed to: Status Interview / Last Update: 06/10/2020. But from what I’ve read on here that’s just the HireVue completion status. Wasn’t sure if it changed to something different if make SD.
