corporate strategy junior summer internships?
Besides Disney and American Express, do any other companies offer corporate strategy junior summer internships? I've searched the threads and apparently Nike and Liberal Mutual do as well, but I can't find anything of the sort on their website.
Liberty Mutual only takes like one person so I don't think their recruiting is very public for that spot. Carmax also has a corporate strategy summer analyst position
AmEx and Capital One have strategy internships. I believe Amazon and Starbucks also have internships.
Target, IBM, and Mastercard do. Also look here fore more http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/corporate-rotationalleadership-de…

How to Land a Corporate Strategy Internship? (Originally Posted: 04/28/2013)
I'm interested in trying get a FT consulting offer out of undergrad, but I realize that landing a consulting internship isn't very easy as there so few to go around. While I've heard strategy gigs can be just as selective, because there are a lot more F500 companies than brand-name consulting companies, I've been advised that trying to land one is not a bad stepping stone to break into consulting.
So what's the process like? What do they look for in candidates? What are the interviews like? Do they also do case interviews?
Thanks for the help guys!
That's like saying there are tons of funds out there that outnumber banks. Most funds don't want to hire undergrads. As I understand, there are VERY few of these corporate strategy roles right out of undergrad. The same goes with Brand management, which is basically corporate strategy for 1 specific brand/product line.
I'm pretty sure most these companies are looking for MBA hires, and ex bankers, consultants etc..T he undergrads that make it in are usually through OCR/networking.
Tough to land an awesome job these daysssss =( =( =(
Couchy is dead on, for the most part. There are a few companies that have UG Corporate Strategy internships, though. I know Capital One, AmEx, Discover, and Disney all have them, but they are still pretty difficult to get into.
What are you calling a "Name Brand" consulting internship? MBB? Tier 2 (LEK, S&O, OW, Booz, etc)? I think there are more opportunities in consulting for internships than people give credit for.
And, yes, most do use cases as a part of their interview process.
I agree with The Sour Patch Kid. Try looking for the tier 2 management consulting firms like: LEK, S&O, OW, Booz. Many people just look at Bain, Deliotte, McKinsey and BCG but there are many more companies. FT is easier to get than SA because there are simply more positions available.
Deloitte (and the rest of the Big 4) would be considered tier 2, just to throw that out there

Where should I look for Corporate Strategy Internships? No previous experience.
well with no experience you'll basically need to network your way in or rely on OCR. Everyone has to start somewhere =/ - the first internship is always the hardest to land.

I'm a sophomore right now at HYP.
Next year I'll be trying to get into MBB or even IB if i can.
I applied to a bunch of firms, mostly boutiques, but one that seemed interesting was
Disney's corporate strategy internship for UGs.

Principal Corporate Strategy/Corporate Development Internships (Originally Posted: 11/03/2011)
Sooo I randomly applied to Principal's corporate strategy group. The requisition reads as follows:
Principal Global Investors is offering an excellent opportunity for students interested in corporate strategy. This paid co-op is a full time position during the spring semester and summer of 2012. During the co-op, students will work with our Strategy team. Responsibilities will include researching potential mergers and acquisitions, analyzing financial projections, preparing presentations and other projects as needed.
I'm currently a sophomore, so this would be a co-op spring internship. Since I go to school in the city, I'm going to attempt to remain full-time by taking a few classes IF I get it. Is this worth it? I have a few boutique interviews lined up but nothing 100% yet.
Let me know
I co-opped in PGI's fixed income department and it was a tremendous learning experience. Learned a ton about bond trading, research, and analytics. Also made a ton of contacts with salesmen and traders at bulge bracket firms.
