Tailored Suits?
I just accepted an offer with Deutsche Bank in New York and needed to get a couple new suits before I begin my training. I currently live in South Florida. I would wait until I go to NY to purchase them, but training is in London and I won't have time once I get to NY before I begin. Does anyone know where I can purchase a custom tailored suit in the Ft. Lauderdale area of Florida? Thank you!
So after reading some of the other discussions, I think that a custom order online might be best after doing the measurements myself. I was thinking about using indochino, does anyone have any other websites they recommend?
Department store? Given the affluence of FTL I would imagine there is at least some place that you can get a nice custom tailored suit from.
I like Suit supply suits. You can also order from JCrew (I've heard good things about their Ludlow suits, or JCrew Factory Thomson suits for a cheaper option)
The suit I wore for interviews was actually from JCrew and I like it... I was just looking for more of a tailored fit. I played football for Notre Dame and after working out for 4 years my upper body is so wide compared to my waist size...So it's tough to get a real nice fit off the rack
When you say custom tailored, I hope you're not referring to bespoke. Anyways, you'll be in London so if you are willing to spend a little more than off the rack, but a lot less than a true bespoke, check out Cad and the Dandy. Honestly, if I lived in London on my budget, I'd make it a priority to get this suit since it is so cheap relative to other bespoke yet is very good quality.

Thanks for the advice, I don't know if I want to wait until I get to London since I will need them day 1 when I get there. I am a little confused with what you said first though...I thought a bespoke suit is custom? What do you mean?
Bespoke is made exactly for your body type, everything is how you want it and is made from scratch (usually takes about 6 weeks), and is therefore usually in the 1500+ range.
I think what you are referring to is more commonly called made to measure (MTM). There is a lot of confusion surrounding the two terms, especially when you say "custom". The reason I can deduce that you're actually referring to a MTM, is because you could never ever get a bespoke suit online. MTM is a little more custom than off the rack in the sense that it is closer to your body type (though, you still have to use cookie cutter measurement referrences for the most part).
IMO though, you may as well get an off the rack suit and then get it tailored very nicely. Odds are that, in order to get the best fit, you'd still need to tailor some aspects of a MTM.
I have a similiar situation with the body type, wide shoulders, wide legs and a skinny waist, suit shopping is a pain in the ass. If you have the time I would look into a MTM suit which should give you a pretty good fit. I've used indochino.com and was pretty satisfied with it. It will take a few weeks for the product to arrive and may need to be sent back for a remake or brought to a tailor for a few alterations.
You can also head to a department store to check out what they have. Something like Nordstrom Rack or Century 21 can be good options. In my case I try to go for the suit separate so I can get a tailored/athletic cut jacket and wider pants that fit my legs and take in the waist.
Shop around and see what you can find/fit into.
