Interview
Started with a Pymetrics one-way interview and assessment. Basic questions about yourself. Was contacted a month later to schedule a 1 on 1 Zoom interview with an Analyst. The interview was 30 minutes long, mostly behavioral with some macro technicals (nothing like banking technicals). It seemed like this was trying to see if you did your research on the actual role and to gauge interest. After two days got an email for an in-person superday. Superday was 6 interviews, 20 minutes each with two people per room interviewing you. 4 out of 6 were almost completely behavioral. 5th was technical, mostly banking questions. 6th was a case study comparing two companies. The final round was 3 interviews online with senior employees, all behavioral. Really enjoyed the interview process, everyone seemed very genuine and asked thoughtful questions. A ton of emphasis on fit.

Three rounds of interviews, the first being technical and the second two purely experience / behavioral. Interviews scheduled through HR, didn't get too much of a feel for culture as the group is quite small.

Interview
Phone call with recruiter followed by two phone screenings (one with a VP and one with a Senior Associate), before I came in for a super day. Super day consisted of a model test (3-statement / long-form LBO) as well as case study (preparing investment merits/considerations based on a CIM for a target the team recently looked at). Relatively standard and straightforward process. Received offer, but ended up not joining since my current firm matched/surpassed offer and upsized my carry allocation.
Interview Questions
One of the hardest questions I had during the whole interview process was a question about the probability of the deck of cards: You have a standard deck of 52 playing cards. You randomly draw three cards from the deck. What is the probability that all three cards are Aces?

Participated in the Diverse Leaders Program. From there we could rank our top 5 groups we were interested in. From differing sources I’ve heard you could get anywhere from 1-3 first round interviews, didn’t see anyone get more than 3. 1 first round over zoom with both a VP and Associate on the call. From there move to in person superday at their NYC office.
Interview Questions
My superday was the morning after SVB/regional bank things kicked off. I got asked a lot of pretty targeted questions around this, with some focused on the implication for Blackstone’s stock price(always know the stock price for any company you interview for it literally takes 30 seconds). This was bookended by asking me how I would’ve invested to avoid having no many low value MBS on hand
