I had to do a maths/logic puzzle simulation in order to be invited for the interview. In the interview, I was given a question to describe an issue outside of finance that I am passionate about. I also had to explain my thought process and reasoning behind various logic questions I was given. The whole interview lasted around 20 minutes.
Interview Questions
I was asked to describe how many tennis balls would fit in a plane, and this was quite difficult to answer. I was encouraged to explain how I came to my answer, but using a lot of numbers got a little confusing at times.

First Stage: Online test involving the notorious switch game.
Second Stage: 1on1 Interview involving competency based questions, brain teasers and behavioural questions. This ranged from the standard why BnP, why GM and a few questions revolving around BnP's ethos.
Third Stage: In person AC. This consisted of 3 parts: a 30 minute long maths paper covering trivial percentage change questions and a riddle. A 1on1 interview with what they called news flash where they present a headline and ask you questions regarding its affect on the market and then a group task where you had to decide as a group which appliances would maximise the constraints they gave you.

Interview
I had 2 interviews before getting the summer analyst investment banking offer. The first one was a 15 mins zoom interview, where I had to pitch a company and its valuation. The second one was the final virtual super day that consisted of 2 1-on-1, back to back 30 mins zoom calls with the director, and analyst and managing director respectively. Neither of them were technical. It was mostly behavioral and culture fit questions.
Interview Questions
The most difficult interview question was a brain teaser puzzle that I actually wasn't able to solve but the managing director and I really hit it off in the start of the interview, and he didn't mind the fact that I couldn't answer just 1 of the multiple several questions he asked me. He vouched for me and I was able to get the full time offer.

I applied to the ASCEND SOPHOMORE SUMMIT which was a 2 day program. The first day was all about the firm and fire chats with executives and business leaders in charge of different arms of the bank. The second day was learning about the AATP (Analyst and Associate Training Program) in which we had a panel of former summer analyst and associates who returned full time. Then we had group break out rooms with analysts, anyone who stood out received an invitation to the superday for the next day.

Now, for the super day it was two associates back to back (two 30 min sessions for each associate, 1 hr total) Both sessions were blended with behavioral and technical questions! One brain teaser.
Interview Questions
Most difficult/Unexpected:
There are three light bulbs in a room. One light bulb is controlled by a switch on the first floor, one by a switch on the second floor, and one by a switch on the third floor. You are on the first floor and CANNOT see the LIGHT BULBS OR THE SWITCHES. How can you determine which switch controls which light bulb?

Applied online, then got contacted by the team for an online interview. They started by asking me questions about my CV. Then about Python projects I’ve done in my previous internships. They made it clear that they wanted someone who’s very efficient in programming but also understands well the factors that influence the changes in rates. The goal is to analyse the outputs of the models and come up with adequate interpretations.
