The recruiting process of BCG in China starts with online application. I submitted CV and cover letter, and there were no open questions. After screening process about 300 people were selected into pre-talk (estimated. There were 5 interviewers; each interview was 10 minutes; per-talk lasted one day). Approximately 5% of these went into first round case interview. I was rejected at pre-talk, but the whole process lasted less than 1 month.
The pre-talk was in English and consists of self-introduction, resume questions, and an estimation mini-case. See sample cases below. The interviewers were all obvious Chinese. In the pre-talk, it seems that creative estimation methodologies are highly encouraged, as well as fluent English.
