This was for a role in one of the two main Australian cities, it was a simple process. The job ad was posted on LinkedIn and from there (they were looking for someone with 1-3 years' experience). I heard back within 10 days and was asked to come in for a 1-on-1 with their Head of Research, followed by an interview with 3 analysts. It's been 2 days since that chat and I expect to hear back within a week. It was a really simple process, but I gather it was because I came from an ER background and didn't have to prove I knew how to model, write reports etc..
Interview Questions
Asked about a specific stock currently under their coverage and how I would go about analysing whether it's a good business.

I go to one of their target schools, so I applied via my school's job portal after CG hosted an informational event on campus. The app required a cover letter, resume, and transcripts. They replied relatively quickly and set up on-campus interviews a few days after the application deadline. If you were selected, you go to their office for a final round interview a few days later. CG Toronto is a lean time, so you get a lot of responsibilities early on. Management is nice. To prepare for the interview, prepare a buy and sell stock pitch. According to their MD, they always ask that for technicals.

Fairly standard interview process. First round was in-person on campus and consisted of a 30 min interview with two analysts, very casual/conversational with some technicals sprinkled in. Superday was in person in NY and consisted of 4 30 min interviews with employees of all levels (analyst to VP).

I found the entire interview process fairly laid back, which I seem fits the culture of the firm. There was an initial on campus interview and then a super day in their office of 4 interviews back to back. Very easy process overall and the interviews were very conversational.
Interview Questions
Can't remember exactly but they asked a bunch of accounting technicals.
