Interview
I interviewed for a full time Investment Banking Analyst position. The interview process, or at least mine, consisted of three stages. The first stage was a very brief phone call where a Y2 Analyst asked me to walk through my resume/tell them about myself, why Centerview, and a few other basic behaviourals/"background check" questions. After this, the next stage was a phone call with an Associate-- this was a standard get to know you coffee chat, where it was mainly them assessing you and if they like to be around you/can tolerate being near you for long hours. Nothing technical asked here, again more of a "vibe" check. For the third and final interview, I spoke with an Analyst, Associate, VP, and MD-- again, this round was extremely behavioural and asked the same "Why do you want to work at Centerview Partners?" and "Why do you want a career in Investment Banking?" questions. You have to know your behaviourals and your few stories like the back of your hand if you are interviewing for CVP. There was also one case study in this round about a tech company (I believe most of their cases are about healthcare or tech companies as they are such a big focus at CVP)-- the case was mostly focused on valuation/accounting questions (such as EV, EBITDA, how you'd value the company (the 3 types)), and then the rest of the interview was behavioural.
Interview Questions
They gave me a case study about a tech company and asked a lot of questions about its EV, EBITDA, how you'd value it, hypotheticals about if it got too big what would you do, etc. It was a stereotypical case discussion, that, in my opinion, felt more like a drawn out LBO case than an M&A case discussion just based off of such a heavy focus on EBITDA and EV. Besides that, KNOW YOUR BEHAVIOURALS!!! Again, need to know "Why CVP/IB" like the back of your hand. CVP is one of the most prestigious banks on the street and have so much talent that applies that they won't want to hear it if you mess up or stumble.

1st round was 30-minute break rooms with one analyst in each and 30 minutes of technicals followed by a 30 minute chill conversation. Technicals screen was very much out of the BIWS(the textbook ones).
Superday was very long but only 1 technical room(much easier than 1st round) followed by personality rooms. Not bad overall

Overall it was pretty technical, with a heavy focus on behavioral and industry focus too. I enjoyed the opportunity to interview and felt it was comprehensive and fair.
Interview Questions
Definitely some fit questions that aren't typical, like why they shouldn't hire you or what your former seniors would say about you.
