I contacted the bank directly as they were not actively seeking applicants. Based on their focus within the lower middle market, and direct sourcing strategy, I believed my skill-set and background aligned well with their business development team. After an initial phone conversation I flew out to their HQ to further the conversation with the director of the business development team. From there I met with several of their Managing Directors, each leading up a different vertical; we discussed sourcing strategies and best practices surrounding lead development. After these conversations I spoke with several other members of the business development group, and then with a few people from HR.
