Interview
I applied to the position via the career portal at school, about a week or two afterwards I got an email from HR informing me of an information session being held at the firm's offices in Miami. Upon arrival we were given a presentation of the firm and its different teams i.e Global Wealth Solutions, Finance, Private Bankers etc. then we were split up and a group of 5 or candidates had a very behavioral interview with a member from the team (run me by your resume). Afterwards I got selected for a second interview with 2 VPs, again very behavioral i.e run me by your resume, why this role? biggest strength? Thereafter I received an email from HR saying I got the role and a few weeks later I received the offer letter
Interview Questions
It was really behavioral for both the first and second round, so I ran them by my resume at the time I had limited experience so I highlighted the analytical roles on my resume (Investment club at school, trading competitions). Taking that into account, the most difficult question would be as a millennial how do you see yourself acclimating to this role? I went ahead and played devils advocate highlighting not so good traits millennial's possess i.e need for instant gratification and how I go about combating them in my everyday life, this really depends on you personally but I highlighted my extra curricular involvement.

Phone Interview
Interview
HR recruiting manager reached out to me for a phone call. This was just behavioral and "walk me through your resume" kind of questions. 2nd round phone interview was with the sales manager to whom I would answer to. This was mostly resume-based and course-based questions, with very few sort-of technical questions.
Interview Questions
Honestly, none of them were difficult, most were just fine. Like I said, mostly "walk me through your resume", to what extent did I know how to program in Matlab, SQL and use excel. Why chose the firm, what are your career goals. It was more of a conversation than anything else so there should not be much to worry about. I also asked really interesting questions at the end which made me stand out I believe, so much of the interview shifted towards my curiosity for the role and what I would learn than anything else.

Phone Interview
Interview
Applied online and was then invited for numericals and verbal reasoning tests. After passing these, was invited for a teleconference interview in their Lisbon office with people working in the London office. The interview included mostly fit questions, also some regarding about Latin America and Brazil and my views on its current affairs and technical questions closer to the end. Technicals included talking about some ratios that are relevant for credit analysis, indicator's of a company's ability to repay debt and basic balance sheet notions.
Interview Questions
I was well prepared, so no question came across as highly unexpected. In any case, when they asked me to talk about an indicator of a company in financial distress and didn't know exactly what they wanted me to answer, so this question was rather ambiguous.

They also asked me to talk about ratios that are relevant for financial analysis as well as to explain how a balance sheet "works". It was a credit summer internship where they taught me almost all skills from scratch so the interview was not very heavy in terms of technical questions.

Interview
First I had a phone screen with HR. The woman asked standard questions like why Itau, what do you hope to gain from this, etc. Then they sent an email later asking me to come to their office and my preference for either equity or credit. I said equity but they set me up with an interview for credit. The site interview consisted of the vp of credit and another hr person together. They walked through my resume, asked about past projects on finance, what my strengths are in a team, etc.
Interview Questions
When I said I liked quantitative things, interviewer asked why I hadn't studied math. Got caught off guard and gave a badly bs'd answer.

Interview
The HR department reached out to me because I had a contact in the company who had referred me to them. They contacted me by email to schedule a conference call, after which I was allowed to skip the online resume drop. All candidates that pass the resume screening are invited to take a test consisting of Math/Logic, general knowledge, and english questions. After passing this phase, candidates were interviewed one-on-one by an HR rep. If you pass this stage then you are interviewed by a manager who will be your boss during your internship period. Overall, there was a strong effort towards making the environment more friendly and easygoing as the hiring process progressed.

Preparation for the interview consisted of reading a lot of news papers, websites, journals for a couple of weeks before the process began. The written test is the stage where this will be the most helpful. Deep understanding of finance is not necessary as they expect to train you while on the job. Managers will notice if you are well informed in regards to recent deals the bank has been part of. If you're just going to know read up on one topic then learn about the bank.

The work culture is very relaxed, people are friendly and very professional. Every floor is an open office structure so no one is segregated into cubicles. Everyone arrives early and stays late because they seem to enjoy what they do, not because they have to. It is common for people to treat each other with respect and not have differential treatment for different ranks.
Interview Questions
How many liters of beer are consumed during the week of carnaval in Rio de Janeiro? Approached this question by estimating average yearly consumption of beer per capita in the country, increasing average for location of the city and different types of alcohol consumed in different areas in the country, then found daily per capita consumption and increased by a certain percentage. Multiplied that value by the days of the party to arrive at final value.
Manager asked me to call him after a couple of days of thinking about the role I would be playing; he didn't want me to say that I would take the job without thinking about it. It was a little strange to call him back later and tell him about my reflections.
