Interview
At first I was invited to apply by a recruiter, I applied a few weeks after that first contact with the recruiter. I received my hirevue about 24 hours after I had sent my application and didn't hear anything again until almost 2 months after. I received a superday invite, where I participated with 8 other people. I had 3 25 minute interviews with some VPs and EDs, very pleasant conversations. Mostly behavioral questions. The only few "technicals" I had were how the bank makes money, what is GDP, and other very basic things you'd expect anyone interviewing for these positions to know.
Interview Questions
Honestly, none of them were difficult imo. I was prepared to answer personality questions, they asked questions about how I've handled dealing with a difficult client, tell me about a time where you had to show leadership skills, etc. It was not difficult at all, it was just about knowing how to answer these questions and have well structed answers.

Interview
The process consisted of a hirevue (was just to check the box) and a final round superday. The superday consisted of two 20 minute panel interviews in which the first was technically oriented and the second was behavioral. I got the superday as a result of 4-5 connections built through networking (very very important to do). Overall the process was very enjoyable and everyone that I met along the way was very friendly.

3 separate interviews with 3 MDs all down within 1 week - got the interviews through an Executive Director referral.
Mostly behaviorol except for 1 markets question. Since this was for the Asia Group, 2 of the interviews were conducted partially in Mandarin to test fluency.
In the job description and explicitly stated again in the interviews, they absolutely will not sponsor visas but they essentially wanted a Chinese native for the job. One of the interviewers specifically said they're looking for someone who can read/write/speak Mandarin at a native level AND the candidate should also be deeply aware of Chinese political and entertainment news so they can speak to clients.

The weirdest interview I've done, seemed to me they wanted to pay $110k for a glorified customer service rep who will answer the phone to private bank clients who only reside in China and spoke 0 English. An example the MD gave was: "If one of our clients call and says they saw on the news the US President will freeze all Chinese nationals' assets in the US we have to explain and tell them that's fake news". Also seemed like they were just too cheap to sponsor someone but wanted a unicorn candidate that operates at a Chinese native level of language and cultural fluency.
Interview Questions
Given that interest rates are going up right now, why would someone hold longer duration bonds in their portfolio?
Tell me something you know about the market
