Applied through the school job board, received a phone interview invite. Interviewed with a junior to mid actuarial analyst in the same team. Got a verbal offer on the phone, was asked to reply that day, then an offer email.
Interview Questions
1. How do you calculate the duration of financial securities? How do you interpret durations? (Hint: two methods, the one that doesn't consider the discount rate and the Macaulay duration)
2. How will you allocate assets for an insurance company? (Hint: consider matching the asset duration to the life of liabilities (which are usually long and demand proper settlement; consider the risk and return profile of different types of assets, e.g., equities are high-risk high-return, and bonds are the opposite, and then consider the requirement of the insurance company).

Interview
Applied through the company's career website and was reached out to by HR within a week. The first 3 person 1 on 1 interview was scheduled within 1 week of contact with roughly a 2 week break in between the second 3 person 1 on 1 interview. Once the verbal offer was extended, the background and drug test took roughly 1 month to finalize. The offer is contingent on passing both the drug test and background check
Interview Questions
The questions were fairly basic for both interviews. The managers and directors wanted to get a feel for how an individual would perform under pressure. Why I am looking to leave my current position and why I chose Prudential and Financial Services as an industry choice (I came from a non-Financial Services industry). What motivates me and how I perform working individually and within a team of a group of people. What my strength and weaknesses are and how I would improve on them. How I feel about giving presentations and if I get nervous before them. How my background in schooling and work has lead me to a good fit for this position.
