Interview
Referred by a junior on the team. Went through 2 technical first round interviews, followed by a case study which had to be completed during a weekend. The case study consisted of a sell-side pitch which included a valuation component. The technicals were difficult, but fair (think BIWS). The case component took a long time to complete.

Interview
I reached out to a recruiter who I had a mutual connection with and introduced myself. She was very open and responsive. Had a brief chat with her over the summer and sent her my resume. She said she would make sure I am kept up to date come time for interviews. About 2 months later I received an email from an analyst in the NYC office asking to schedule an phone interview. The phone interview was the standard first round interview. From what I have read and heard about the company taking FT analysts only from their intern class, that was one of my questions for her after the interview. She said that they are interviewing a select group of candidates as well. Reached back out to the recruiter after the interview asking the same question and she said that my interview was for a spot if an intern decided to pursue other opportunities.

Interview
The interview is a sales pitch for the sales job-disguised as a finance role- that you'll be doing. The interviewer reeked of corporate jargon and didn't have an honest bone in his body. It was also with another interviewee so that tells how much they care about each candidate. In the end, we were asked to name 15 people with names and numbers to secure a third interview. Which I will not be doing. They make it seem like some great opportunity to be your own boss and how you can make unlimited amounts of money while avoiding the fact that you must shove life insurance down people's throat to get paid.

The interview process was quick. Applied online and got an email to schedule a phone interview within two weeks. The interviewer was very nice and we had more of a conversation than Q&A. Ask one technical, mostly behavioral questions. Said the next interviews would consist of many more technical questions.
