Interview Questions
You and your friend are playing a game of your choice, each round you will bet 10 dollars. In that game, if your friend chooses to double the bet, you can double the bet, and if you do not you will lose 10 dollars. How will you choose your strategy?

This problem is easy but very ambiguous when stated on the phone. Because I think I can choose a game that I will win for sure and I will not lose at all. I asked a lot of problems for clarification.

Interview
Applied on the website. After a CV screen I was invited to take the SIG test, which was a series of around 20 probability and statistics questions, along with some geometry and basic maths. After passing this, I was invited to a telephone interview with a recruiter, which I was told would be 90% technical and 10% everything else. First few questions were very basic: Why SIG? Why trading? Why study your degree? Following this, we went through 4 brainteasers, I can't describe in detail as I was told not to disclose this information, but I can say it mainly revolved around calculating the expected value and Bayes theorem in many different scenarios. They weren't necessarily difficult, but due to the number of applicants you need to probably get them all right. I was rejected at this stage, stemming from the fact I struggled on one of the questions.
Interview Questions
A survey has recently been done and in this survey it was found that 50% of the population do not smoke, 20% are heavy smokers, 30% are light smokers. It was found that a heavy smoker was 2x as likely to die as a light smoker and a light smoker was 2x as likely to die than a non-smoker. During the survey, someone dies. What is the probability that it was a heavy smoker?

Interview
First round was a phone interview with HR. Asked one question gauging understanding of options contracts. Second round was a case study, which they gave me a week to complete. Final round was a ~ 90 minute interview. Consisted of 3 parts, quantitative interview which was heavy on understanding of statistics and expected value. Second part was with a member of the team to discuss the case study and see my understanding of markets. Third part was a check in with HR. Overall a decent experience, the people I spoke to were very nice and very smart. Would warn that it seemed like a very quanty culture, so if that's not you its probably not gonna be a great fit.
Interview Questions
There's a casino where you can bet on a stock going up or down everyday. The stock is at $100 and either doubles in price or goes down 50% everyday. You have 4 options: bet that it goes up, bet it goes down, buy the stock, or sell the stock. Find a way to guarantee profit everyday regardless of if the stock goes up or down. Your method should guarantee the same profit regardless of what the stock does.
