Applied online and received a call back from HR within a week. HR did not even read my resume so he asked me to reiterate everything on my resume and what I did for each position. Asked me if I am citizen and if I am eligible to work at the location I have applied. The following week, I received an interview request from the PM to come in and meet himself and his colleague for a technical round. After that round, there was a case study, just general on using excel and technical analysis. While the hiring manager was professional and mature, I feel like his colleague seemed like a big jerk, for some reason it seems like he was holding in his laugh as if he knows something I don't.
Interview Questions
There were a few difficult or unexpected questions.

First one was, if I was a portfolio manager doing portfolio allocation for a client, what would be your breakdown between equities, fixed income, and alternatives, and within alternatives, how much would you allocate to hedge funds?

A second hard question was about crypto, whether or not I would invest clients' money into cryptocurrencies and what do I think is the biggest constraint is on investing in crypto.

The final hard question I got was, name some big investment managers and what are some unique characteristics between each shop.

Considering I attend a target school, the process started with a presentation on campus with many school alumni who currently work at the firm. There was a formal online application. This led into the first round interview which was with a school alumni. It focused on basic technicals as well as some more unique behavioral questions. A few weeks later I was notified of an in person super day invite which consisted of 3 interviews, 30 minutes each. These were all 1 on 1 with different levels across the firm. I was notified of an offer the next day.

I applied a few months ago. Some time later, I received a hour long interview split into two 30 minute interviews with VPs. This first interview was more informational, with some behavioral and technical questions weaved in about basic things like the yield curve, etc. If you are looking to prepare for an interview with them, know a few recent stories about trades/macro events/etc and be prepared to take an opinion on it and defend it. I discussed oil prices (though it was a Fixed Income interview) and how they are reacting to a sluggish Chinese economy and global tensions. The VP I was speaking with asked me what price I expected oil to rest at after a few months which caught me by surprise but I picked a number and defended why. The second interview was 5 back to back 30 minute interviews with some MDs. They were curious about my background, resume walk through, basic behaviorals. The "technical" aspect would be discussing a recent theme/story/rates in the market. Be prepared to have an in-depth discussion where you will need to input, and defend, your own opinion.
Interview Questions
What price do you expect oil to be at in a month? After talking about a recent article I read, VP interrupted and asked for MY opinion on it.
What is a bear vs bull steeper?

TD's recruiting process was a bit much compared to other sales and trading summer analyst interview processes. First round was two separate 1 on 1s with associate/2nd year analyst. Overall pretty chill, just talked about my resume, macro and then pitch a trade idea. Superday was a lot, five rounds back-to-back with Director/MD. But the questions asked varied a lot between interviews. It seemed that they didn't have a question list to ask from and it was more of a free-flowing conversation than it was directionally. Overall well run process but I though that 5 back to back interviews/conversations with D/MD was a bit much.

TD came to our school to do an info session. Said for Houston they would accept one TCU student guaranteed. About 2 weeks later got a first round interview, asked a few behavioral then some general technicals. Felt really easy. 2 days later I was given a super day. They flew me down to Houston and the superday was about 5 rounds - 1 informal at a coffee shop...the next 4 a mix of behavioral and a few technical. Very high level. A mix of MD, VP, and analysts.
Interview Questions
Tell me how you received a 69% return on your 100k investment? They were asking about a stock challenge I did in a club. My answer was very poor simply because I only shorted a stock so this made me sound dumb. The technicals were very easy though.

The hiring process consisted of 2 interviews after applying. The first round was an interview over zoom with 2 associates with basic technical questions. The second round was a superday in person at their Houston office. It was 5 rounds 30 minutes each with 3-4 different bankers. It was not technical at all and asked mostly behavioral questions and questions about the o&g market.
