First was 30 min phone interview - was very relaxed, kicked it off with basic behaviorals and had a nice conversation about NYC. This was with an associate. I was able to pitch a stock as well, very light follow up questions.

Followed by 2 back to back 30 min zoom interviews which were 1 on 1. Both were very behavioral, the most technical they got were "pitch me a stock". Again with 2 associates, very nice people.
Interview Questions
What steps would you take if the company was going to lend money?

First was 30 min phone interview - very chill with an alum from my school who was FT in the role I was applying for. Basic techs and walk through a stock pitch plus a few behaviorals. Then 5-10 mins at the end for questions.

Followed by 2 back to back 30 min zoom interviews which were 1 on 1. First was very behavioral focused and a lot about fit. Second was much more tech focused and just asked about a lot of easy to medium technical questions.

The interview process consisted of two rounds. The first round was a screening call that lasted for about 30 minutes and was about 70% behavioral and 30% technical. The call was with an associate in the group, and none of the technical questions were too challenging. The second round was two back-to-back zoom interviews. Both were about 30 minutes with one being with and MD and the other being with a director. The call with the MD was about 90% behavioral and 10% technical and the call with the director was about 60% behavioral and 40% technical.
Interview Questions
The most difficult question I got asked was "What would happen if a project defaulted?"

The process opened for SA 25. A friend of mine had been an SA and now is a FT 1A for this coming year. I received a same-day phone interview after applying with a referral and was interviewed later that night. It was a mix of behavioral and technical questions and logical puzzles. There are three rounds as far as I know.

I would offer advice to know general finance knowledge such as DCF or Accounting questions, as well as having a solid "Why IB" story in mind. Also, be prepared for logical questions, such as how many doors there are in NY, or how many boats are in Florida, things like that. Overall, was a great interview and was very relaxed, not typical of some other firms which tend to be intimidating.
Interview Questions
It was certainly the question about how many boats there are in Florida. It came down to assuming a certain number of population in Florida, how many there are on the coast, and how many people would realistically own a boat. Its a very random question and I've never seen it before but overall was a fun teaser. The answer was given in the end that (there really isn't a way to outright tell unless you know) as it was more about your thought process.

My case applies for a IB Capital Markets Sumemr Analyst position for Summer 2023. I applied directly online without networking prior and beleive I was selected due to a strong resume including a previous investment banking summer analyst position and leadership roles in finance organizations on campus.

I applied in September 2023, the interview process commenced over 3 weeks in October 2023. The first round was a phone call with an assosciate based in Atlanta, roughly 1.5 weeks later I received an invite to a superday. The superday was pretty light compared to other IB interviews I had with other MM banks, the most technical was asking about Enterprise value, but the questions were directed around what I think about the current market environment and behavioral, which I expected since Ik Truist prioritzes culture a lot. But tbh that interview was way easier than expected. Superday consisted of 3 interviews with VPs-Analysts across Atlanta/NYC.

I received the offer for the Atlanta office. However, I turned it down for a MM in NYC.
Interview Questions
Enterprise Value formula
Thoughts on a potential rescession
When was a time you showed leadership.

All Qs were pretty generic

Very straightforward. One first round interview with the standard technical questions (main valuation methodologies, three statements, etc) and some "walk me through your resume" questions. The Superday consisted of two back-to-back thirty-minute interviews with an MD and an Associate. No technicals were asked.
Interview Questions
None. I would say instead the "where do you see yourself in ten years" type of questions. The technicals were very basic and a general overview was enough for them.

Very behavioral and cultural fit across all 3 people that I interviewed with. Was an initial round with one associate and then advanced the next week to a superday with 2 interviews with a VP and Director in the group. Almost all behavioral and some very high-level general technicals that just require basic finance knowledge.
Interview Questions
Not really any very difficult questions I encountered. Just know the ins and outs of the group and why you want to be a part of the company/group, as fit is everything. Know basic financial principles and you are good.
