What to do to get to consulting

Nontarget sophomore 3.7 gpa accounting and finance, intern experience in commercial real estate and credit. Interning at EY for audit for my junior year summer.

I don’t really want to be an auditor, I want to go into management or strategy consulting, but I had to accept the offer I got now because it’s the best I have and I didn’t want to gamble.

What is a good path to get to consulting? I am still applying and looking but I feel very lost right now as my apps stopped receiving interviews for some reason. Any advice would be appreciated.

Also side note I heard EY at end of internship will let u pick any office to work at, is this true? Stuck in Denver rn and wanna go to Florida

With your accounting background, you can make a lateral to restructuring consulting after 2-3 years of audit. It’s a hard jump, but not terribly uncommon for RX consultants to be former auditors. From there, a jump to strategy consulting seems much more reasonable.
