Credit to Equities, is it possible, and how?

For someone still very early in their career who starts in credit (something like a MF Credit platform, but doing more "vanilla" credit strategies), is it possible to switch to an equity oriented hedge fund? If so, understanding that it will obviously be somewhat of an uphill battle, what things should that person be doing in order to best prepare and set themselves up for interviews and opportunities?

Value / special situation styles should have a lot of skill overlaps. It will be a problem if you are dead set on growthier investment styles (compounder and hypergrowth) because perception of you as too downside-focused.

If you can prove you can think about value creation as the equity holder via good stock write-up, someone should be open to have a convo with you.
