Worth doing an unpaid deal sourcing ib internship?
So for context I’m a sophomore at a semi/target school w/ a 3.8 gpa. I am in the feeder ib clubs, and have a couple internships on my resume. After talking to a few ppl in the feeder ib club, it seems like a lot of them had an ib/PE internship and have a 3.9+ gpa. I currently work as a sole intern at a boutique ib bank and have a lot of hands-on experience because of it that I can talk about in interviews. I have been doing the internship since the fall and it’s very low work (maybe a few hours a week). Now my contract there ended but my boss still gives me work (I volunteered because I think it’s interesting). I recently got an offer at another boutique ib firm for the spring (unpaid) but after speaking to the interviewer, it seems to be just deal sourcing (still low commitment). Since im heading into recruitment, I wanted to ask if it worth doing the deal sourcing internship just to tag on another ib internship on my resume to get ahead of my peers? Or would it dilute the experience that I currently have at the more hands-on boutique?
