For what purpose?
It's far better and able to create more dynamic, in-depth visualizations than excel. If you're working with a huge database it is worth it for sure. If you're just trying to create visuals for a 500 line block of data then no, its not worth the time and effort.
Another huge benefit to it is people are able to access and manipulate the visuals without having direct access to the data, and no concern of pulling the wrong version.
Truthfully, if you don't see the value in powerBI, you likely aren't the target user. Tableau and PowerBI have analytics/dashboard capabilities that make excel look a bit silly. Much of what I do in tableau could not be done in excel without massive limitations. It’s also better for sharing out to other users

They are fundamentally different tools. Tableau and powerBi are dashboard / big data tools.
Why would you ever be trying to make a financial model in them? Excel is a much better tool for that
You could probably do any modeling in tableau or power bi, it’s just really complex to set up, an order of magnitude harder than excel.
You just have to use parameters in tableau or what if columns in power bi.
