Hi,I am at Edhec and I can say it's target school.Lots of my friends secured Springs and Summer at top BB in London (think BAML, JPM, Citi and GS + PIMCO/Blackstone). Some other did off-cycle at MS, BAML or Rothschild in Paris.I myself have secured a Summer at a top BB (I have been invited to Assessment Centers at all the top BB) and going through the group placement process I noticed lots of people from Edhec in the bank which made it easier to network and end up in the group I wanted. My brother is at EM Lyon and secured a summer after a spring at a top BB in London as well.I would tend to say that students at EM Lyon are less prepared for careers in Finance but at Edhec you will be more than prepared believe me. Also before Covid it was really common to see top BB coming on Edhec campus for networking sessions (think BAML/Citi and so on).I would say that obviously HEC/ESCP/ESSEC are more prestigious especially if you want to break into banking in Paris but in London you'll be fine as long as you are in the top 5 and your chances will be very solid.Hope this helps

Former EDHEC student here. It is definitely possible to secure good IB positions if you go to the Nice campus following your first year in Lille. Maybe 1/3 of students in Nice manage to secure a position in IB. It is close to impossible to do the same if you plan on staying in Lille on the 2nd year, although I know two people who did (out of c.500 students).

Emlyon definitely fell in the ranking in the past years (sigem) and it is starting to show now. Would you secure both edhec and em it feels like not choosing edhec would be a mistake as of today.

I agree with what has been said above namely that it would be much harder to get an IB role in Paris coming from edhec than the top3, but much more manageable (compared to ESCP/ESSEC/HEC) in London.

In short, I was in the same situation as you during my 2nd year at prépa: looking to secure a top3 and would not go below top5. Ended up with edhec and did not regret going there.
