1-month informal internship?
Hello- I'm looking to start a Masters program in mid-July and have given my current FT employer two weeks notice. I am trying to find a boutique IB/CM firm in the region (DC/Northern VA) that can offer me a 1-month unpaid internship just for some experience and a shot as a FT analyst upon graduation.
Is this a possibility? What sort of firms offer these internships? If possible, who in the firm do I contact, alumni connections or HR directly? FWIW, I'll be attending Duke MMS this fall, but dont yet have access to their alumni DB.
use linkedin to find duke alums. seems a little late but u never know
you should open up your region to raleigh and charlotte for the summer. you should be able to get some interest for a 1 month gig...given it will probably be unpaid.
I received an admit on May 12th so I figured my odds would be low of finding something in the summer. Opening up my search is a great idea; anyone have access to Cap IQ that could help me out? I see DC's list and I've been firing off some emails.
Any idea who I should target, alums or HR directly?
Most of the time boutiques don't have a HR dept. Larger banks who shoot you off to HR won't get you anywhere or give you exposure to bankers who have hiring power. Contact alumni first.
Bump- anyone have cap IQ access that can help me out?
1 month summer BB IBD internship (Originally Posted: 06/15/2012)
A few of my co-interns and a few of my friends have a "1 month" (or 3 weeks) summer internships at various times during the summer, a few of them are having it at July or August.
How do they get them?
In the USA? Im interested too.
this + 10 weeks internship would be the winning combo
if they are your friends why don't you ask them
