2 Hour Job Search Discussion
I'd like to start a thread to discuss the 2 Hour Job search. For those that aren't familiar its a book written by a Duke career services guy that wants to help you finish your job search in two hours. It's supposed to be helpful for first jobs, internships, and career switches.
I already have some thoughts and questions which I'll bounce around on here later, but first I'd like to here from people who have successfully or unsuccessfully utilized the full method.
If you didn't follow the book method exactly as it's laid out YOU DIDN"T FOLLOW THE PROGRAM (as Mike Rippetoe would say), but it would still be helpful if you comment on the tweaks you made and your reasoning behind them.
To those of you who have or haven't read it, what do you think about the method of making quick lists and finidng quick contacts without spending time researching at first?
How should one treat alumni and linkedin connections from back in the day? Should one look for different aljmni in an org?
I kind of did something like this. Found an alum on Linkedin, got an email, reached out and he made me an offer over the phone for an off cycle intrenship. Went to meet him a few days later and made it offical.
