Michigan is by far the best school you mentioned, and if you get a high GPA with some relevant extracurriculars you'll be well positioned. (You can also try to internally transfer to Ross)
The other schools will be an uphill battle. Major really doesn't matter that much, so If IB is the focus, I'd emphasize getting a higher GPA over picking a hard major.
Also, you really, really, really should not be worrying about IB now. I know some people say its never too early, but please god go have some fun and worry about it when you start your sophomore year. Just focus on getting a good experience and getting solid grades.
Ross is what makes Michigan good. LSA might not be the move.
Compared to his other schools, Michigan is his best bet imo.
Would agree that Ross would obviously be the ideal choice but seeing as you don't see that happening it makes it a tougher decision. I'm a WFU alum in IB and I know quite a few kids my year who got in. No one I knew who wanted IB and properly prepped/networked didn't get into a shop they wanted. Now I'm not saying WFU is the best choice of the three as they are all great schools but I do want to emphasize, at least at Wake, major does indeed matter. I'm not saying that you can't get into IB with other majors (I've seen it happen) but the business school definitely has far more resources and events for students to get in.
I wouldn't personally choose UMich because you'll be competing with Ross kids. Wake is a Target for Wells and has representation at most BBs, and I'm not familiar with Emory so can't speak to their placement. I also would say that you will be able to break in from any of the three with some hard work so honestly just choose which school feels right to you (they are 3 completely different schools) because you're 4 years away from IB, make sure you go somewhere you'll enjoy.
Going off this, actually enjoying school your freshman year gives you much more common ground and makes it easier to talk to people in sophomore year networking.
