2020 Election

Obama overlooks this VP and Attorney General for Patrick Deval, a less qualified Wall Street sellout. The liberal agenda is still alive and well, we will be seeing a lot more of it in 2020.

Zero Hedge is a shit website. That's not an accurate article title or assessment at all. Obama hasn't "picked" anyone as of 2017. The guy is a friend, just like Biden.

Even if he did pick or anoint the guy or whatever, why do you say "the liberal agenda is alive and well?" Clearly, an agenda by liberals would be a liberal agenda, much like an agenda by conservatives would be a conservative agenda. What a thoroughly disappointing thread.

The conservative agenda was not being pushed last fall. Trump is a populist that ran on the republican ticket. I am referring to the agenda of overlooking more qualified candidates for someone who has proven them self as a sellout. Deval has defended Bain Capital (founded by Mitt Romney) business practices during the 2012 race because he was receiving money from them due to his interest in running for president. Clearly showing that his opinions are purely based off of what get him more money.

Just FYI - when people, intelligent or otherwise, talk about "the liberal agenda," this is in no way what they are referring to.

Keep throwing monkey shit too - doesn't change reality. When conservatives talk of "the liberal agenda" they are referring to liberals' desire to implement left-wing social and economic policies. They are most definitely not referring to overlooking more qualified candidates for "sellouts."

This is like the opposite of what most people think liberals are after. So if someone that the democrats are pushing has defended Bain Capital, doesn't that make him more of a centerist candidate? This literally makes no sense.

Actually, I did read the Politico story earlier in the day. Some thoughts:

  1. The politico link in no way means that Zero Hedge is not a shit website. Zero Hedge is a shit website with or without this story.

  2. The Politico story in no way says that Deval is Obama's anointed choice. It says people who worked for Obama like him. It says Obama is encouraging him to run. I'm sure Obama is encouraging a number of people to run. There is no point is him putting all his eggs in one basket this early. Because Obama has not "chosen" anyone, the Zero Hedge headline of "Sorry Joe Biden And Eric Holder, Obama Just Picked His 2020 Candidate And It's Not You" is both incorrect and complete clickbait, just like the OP's statement of "Obama overlooks this VP and Attorney General for Patrick Deval, a less qualified Wall Street sellout." is incorrect. Who is it that said "facts don't care about your feelings" again?

  3. Get over thinking people are offended about everything. The only emotion I had was disappointment, as I expressed. I think a conversation about who will run and who will ultimately be the final two candidates in 2020 would be an interesting discussion. Clearly that is too much for WSO to handle though without people rewarding bananas and monkey shit to everyone that even mentions a group of people that hold views counter to their own. I'm not even a liberal, but heaven forbid I think Zero Hedge is a poor website or that reality matters more than catchy headlines.

Ok so are we down to semantics here? Or did you just miss the 3rd sentence in the article?

"Barack Obama is nudging him to run. His inner circle is actively encouraging it. Obama world’s clear and away 2020 favorite is sitting right here, on the 38th floor of the John Hancock Building, in a nicely decorated office at Bain Capital."

And then again:

"Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s close adviser and friend, says that a President Patrick is what “my heart desires.”

Sorry, you're right, Obama himself hasn't hand picked anyone, but his team has. More or less the same thing, IMO.

You also go on to say that having a discussion on this is too much for WSO to handle, and yet your first comment on the discussion is calling a website shit, I assume because you disagree with its views.

The main point of the OP, which I believe is why you're offended/disappointed/whatever you want to call it, is that its the Liberal's MO to "anoint" candidates. It happened with Hillary, its happening now with Kamala, and it also sounds like its happening with Deval. The Republicans had the same problem with Jeb. Voters don't like having these candidates forced on them.

Agreed. Zero Hedge is absolute garbage. It essentially is a blog written by randos to satiate the prurient desires of the economic doom porn subculture. The day I want geo-political or financial advice from Zero Hedge, I'll be wearing a toe tag.

People who think zerohedge is shit live in a vacuum. The site has a lot of good, outside the box analysis. Is it all great? No, but saying it's shit is laughable.

OP - I read the article and the guys a good choice for a President. He's black and more accomplished than Obama. Realistically, Dems have become a party of NYC and Cali and unless they get minority turn out, they lose. AA voters didn't vote for Hillary and I frankly don't blame them.

Going forward, expect Dems to run nothing but minority candidates. Hopefully, one day in the fantasy future, these candidates will actually help the ethnic groups they depend on to get elected.

I live in a vacuum because I don't think a website that features inaccurate, clickbait tiles by "Tyler Durden," has an ugly layout, and contains more ads than content is a quality site?

Relax, dude. No one said anything about your mother.

Actually, I partially retract my earlier statement.

Haven't browsed Zerohedge in years and my impression of it was long tainted by some random, sensationalist article I happened to click on about the Chinese seeking to subjugate the international economic order.

But this thread inspired me to give it another chance, and I must say I am actually impressed. Will add it to my normal news rotation going forward.

Go look at the policy Kerry and older Dems pushed. Pro union, pro protecting Jobs, pro manufacturing. Kerry wanted to label china a currency manipulator.

Dems this election decided that they could win based on fringe social issues and trying to get the minority vote. Ignored their historic base. And as a result lost blue collar states such as PA, WI, MI. Their far left crap made them lose Ohio and florida. Two states obama won twice.

Just blows my mind how in 8 years liberals threw away a group of people who have been with them since FDR. But yeah, it was Russia and Podesta emails that all major networks ignored that did it.

It seems ludicrous to me that after 2016 people believe it is possible to handpick a successor or at least some kind of crown prince. What you can do is picking the most viable candidate to win an election...as happened recently in Pennsylvania...but otherwise, this is a fool's errand. Especially since the Dems seem very interested in retiring the super-delegate system, after all the brouhaha it led to last time.
