does that mean the bonus is also taxed as a part of your overall comp? i.e. no separate (higher) tax rate for bonus? Thanks!
Your bonus is taxed at the same rate as your overall comp - if you make $150,000, it doesn't matter if 10% or 90% of it's your bonus, your final tax bill will be the same. However, the US uses a retarded withholding method, so just because your bonus is a really big check you'll have a lot of it withheld. You'll end up with a pretty decent tax return in April.
