Wishing everyone wel in these difficult times... but let’s see some numbers!!
Believe most banks have switched to calendar year bonuses? Are there still a few paying in summer for analysts?
Yeah I think most still pay summer. My bank and all my friends’ pay summer
Yeah my bank is still summer.
bump
thought this post is way too early...
Maybe the figures are being budgeted in the mid-year and communicated to employees in the following Jan/Feb?
Bump
Bump
Most don’t give numbers until end of July
Dump
Which banks do stub-bonuses or year-end bonuses?
Also curious. Every bank I know does summer cycle for analysts except for William Blair and Baird
bump
Bro you ain’t slick. Might wanna delete this from your page cuz EVR is the new GS of EBs

What bank? That's huge. I see you're in coverage
MM (Product) / $85K / $170K / AN1 / Top bucket
$105K starting next year
Nice! Does that include signing bonus? If not that's pretty great!
--
Wow solid numbers
Is this HW
no not harris williams
This is BMO FYI
no its not..
contrats!
Base increased from 85k to 105k is massive!
MM UK IB, An1-2/£60k base/£90k all in
Not dreadful - I don't do BB hours - but could've been better
Nice
Can anyone comment on recent laterals bonus expectations? How many weeks / months do you have to join before getting anything (even pro-rata)?
I’m sure it’s bank dependent but would love some context on precedents, especially at BB. Thanks.
It depends on what type of lateral move you’re making. If you go BB -> BB (or similar, eg Jeff -> BB or Wells -> BB), then your new firm will typically pay you a full-year bonus even if you joined 6-10 months in to make up for the fact that you worked for 6-10 months at your old firm and didn’t get a bonus.
If you’re moving from a Big 4 or something they’ll try to get away with paying you a stub, like 20-30k
And if you’re moving from a no name boutique to a BB and don’t get anything….? Do I make a deal about it?
not true for me at JPM/GS/MS. I got nada when I joined with 2 months remaining in the year.
Whatever you negotiated when you moved. This is why it is super important to get as much as you can in signing if you leave before bonus
Usually by default the contracts are written from "effective date" so if you moved in Feb and they pay in Aug then you should get Feb - Aug pro-rata. Some people negotiated for it all though etc. It just depends

Barclays coverage / An1 / 85k / 64k / 149k
Due to the 15k raises just announced plus the standard 5k raise when moving to An2, new base is 105k
^ not including 10k signing bonus or 5k relocation bonus - I don’t feel like those should really be included but if you do, those are the numbers to add
Thanks - is this mid/top bucket?
I'm a current summer analyst at Barclays. When did you receive the 10k signing bonus? Trying to build a budget for my senior year.
Signing yes, Relocation no
did this hit your bank account
Gets paid out at the end of july
that seems in line with a normal year, not a record-breaking year.....
group?
Are bonuses relative similar across coverage? Do you know if product group bonuses are different?
This seems like it may be the mid bucket of 2020. BMO was exactly the same
Mid: 65K bonus, bump from $85K to $105K (AN1 is now $100K) and then signing bonus etc. (was $7.5K in 2019)
Top: $80/85
An2 bonuses were ~$110 and then promotion bonus (like $40K - still nothing compared to even post-MBA signing bonuses at EBs etc.)
From lack of response here seems like just aren’t many people around to collect bonuses….
Most firms communicate bonuses late July and pay out mid August
that's because most banks communicate comp til of of the month guy
Can't wait to be disappointed.
when will my MONEY COME
An1 MM coverage, 85 base bumped to new market 105, 75k bonus
Not including lifestyle & sign on bump. I ain’t quitting.
Baird/Blair/Hw/Jeff tier MM?
step below HW/Jeff, more like Piper, RJ, Baird, Cowen, Stifel
Sounds like RJ. Solid
Boutique (not EB)
AN1 / $85k / $110k / $195k / $215k incl. signing bonus
Base was recently bumped to $100k ($110k for AN2), effective post-July 4th.
BRUH
Can you give some insight as to where this is at? Like your bank + it’s comparables to stay anon
Industry boutique like Qatalyst (nowhere near as good though).
Leerink?
I did hear some good things about leerink comp.
.
Guggenheim numbers aren’t out yet
Barclays AN1
85k Base / 75k Bonus = 160k all-in (175k if you count sign-on & relo)
thanks! do you happen to know if this is mid/top bucket?
this was top bucket - I think slightly higher than previous years but not by much too.
When does the sign-on bonus hit your account? Is it right after you sign or is it paid when you start?
sign-on is when you sign; relo is around the time you start
Where's my money
A good number of other An2’s I’ve spoken with are already recruiting for an immediate exit. If management doesn’t properly compensate and communicate soon, we’ll probably lose another quarter of the class by Christmas time.
Honestly have no clue why they keep sending us books that we will never read.
By analyst 2 do you mean the class that just joined in June 2020? and are they looking to exit to another bank?
bump
Anyone know when BB bonuses get paid out? (as in seeing the #s in your bank account) Planning to dip right after the bonus hits...
My BB pays out mid August
Bump
EB - numbers being announced 2nd week of August at my shop I assume similar for other summer cycles
where's my MONEY
Is this later than what it's been for prior years?
Nope - about the same, they typically wait for other shops' numbers to come out before deciding
UBS AN1 coming out to 55-62.5k range for full-year (including 27.5k stub bonus in Feb). No Covid bonus either.
That's hella sad
Fuck the exodus would be bad if this is true
Are u middle bucket?
:(
Can confirm
UBS has to be cheapest bank on the street this year, those numbers are bad even for a non-covid year lol
What was your stub bonus for Jan-Jun?
27.5k across the board for first stub* slightly higher for the 2nd stub since January

Any news about HSBC by the way?
I believe they paid in March
Base: $85k -> $105k
Bonus: $67k
Bank: “lower tier bank” according to this site. In a coverage group
Can you give example of what type of 'lower tier' bank it is? By lower tier do you mean low BB or like an unknown MM? Btw that comp is solid bro
Not original poster but those look like street numbers. So I have to imagine that he/she means a balance sheet bank like UBS/DB/BARC and probably could even extend into WF/RBC
Bump - everyone should be getting numbers this week / next right?
Base 85 > 105
Bonus 65
Top BB product
Bump
Saw on another post that CS has announced.
Anything for other BBs?
Analyst 2 > Associate
BB, Product Group, Non NYC
Top Bucket
Base: 95k > 105k in June > 175k for Assoc
Bonus: 123.5k (all cash)
A2A sign on: 40k
July 21 - July 22 Comp: 175+123.5+40+40(assumed assoc stub): 378.5k
Yeehaw
Damn you bank must have high A-A conversion if these are your numbers
Generally speaking seems like bonuses for Analysts are up 20k or so across buckets this year compared to last
JPM to know by Wednesday of next week.
Analyst 3 >>> Left for PE
MM, Coverage Group, NYC
Top Bucket
Base: 95k
Bonus: 130k (all cash)

Analyst 3 >>> Left for PE
MM, Coverage, NYC
Top Bucket
Base: $95k
Bonus: $150k
Wow - is this Jef?
Nah not JEF

Do you know what mid bucket was for your group?
These numbers are looking great, keep em’ coming. Let’s hope these numbers are a new norm and not just from this past year of COVID!!
AN2, upper MM/lower BB, 108k bonus
Rbc or Wells?
WF
Sick, congrats
BB (Coverage) / $85K base / $180K all-in / AN1 / Top
GS?
I thought GS didn't raise
Heard there’s a lot of happy WF analysts walking around right now
