3.9 GPA (in a useless major) from an Ivy League school. How do I break into consulting?

One year masters programs can be a good stepping stone. I know someone at my Bain office came through MS Commerce at UVA (she did a BA in history or something). Programs like that one are specifically targeted at non business majors.
Given your GPA and pedigree, it wouldn't seem like other one year programs would be out of reach, assuming you get a good standardized test score. Just make sure to talk to career folks at target programs and see what jobs are typically included as part of their on campus recruiting.
The whole point of going to an Ivy League is that there are no "useless" degrees. I know people at HYP that majored in linguistics that broke into Goldman. I would definitely recommend a one year MSF that can be used for both consulting and banking.
Do something relevant at a F100 go to a top 15 MBA then the consulting doors will fly open. Can't promise MBB but AT Kearney, Booz, or LEK are possible.

In a aliquid dicta consequatur iusto. Sed magni consectetur molestiae dolorem repellat et. Cumque et autem velit officia.
