4 tips for wearing a sport coat like a boss

Nothing beats a crisp sport coat or blazer, right? The thing is, springtime brings out two kinds of people when it comes to clothes. The first kind is the head-turning, fresh individual who is half the reason we sit outside during patio season. The second kind is probably still melting in a winter coat while waiting for style cues from the first kind. Which are you?

My tip? Wear it like you mean it. Attitude is a large part of dressing well. If you feel uncomfortable chances are it won't work on you. Spring time is also the great equalizer as to who is hitting the gym and who isn't. No more bulky sweaters or coats to hide behind and although a blazer can mask the layers of eggnog it doesn't make them disappear.

Also, don't underestimate the impact of throwing a blazer over a crisp dress shirt with jeans. Crazy the difference in reactions you'll get.

You're totally right. Confidence is key and a change of season wardrobe can really highlight it. Do you see co-workers in your office dressing trendy? I find most people fall back on the same old black, white and grey options.

I have never understood the American habit of wearing sports jackets. Or jackets with jeans.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

i've seen this in europe... jackets with jeans at least

Yes, this has been prevalent; it's a mixed bag in my opinion. I think a casual insouciance to norms, especially in fashion, is sometimes warranted. The above atrocity notwithstanding, of course.
