What jobs out there require 40 - 50 hours per week? Preferably some sort of accounting job - any roles or companies one should look for?

That's easy. I thought you were gonna ask about high-paying 40-hour jobs. I was gonna say risk management. Pretty much any basic office job where you cap out at like $50-60K is those hours.
Yeah, higher-paying would be nice, but I'm not picky. What sorts of basic office jobs were you thinking of, any roles in particular?
AP/AR clerk... work your way up to director of finance or some shit at some shipping company in North Carolina making $90K
I would think any "finance" job at F500 (i.e., sales finance, marketing finance, corporate finance). Not sure what comp is for straight out of college, but roles that require 2-4 yrs work experience typically start in the low 6 figures.
I work in human capital consulting now and work 45-50 hours/week about 75% of the time. 2 years out of school and making 90k all-in a low cost of living city.
Unfortunately earning potential down the road isn't very good so I'm considering transitioning into strategy consulting in a few years, likely via an MBA.
What's your background? (Target/non-target, ECs?)
Ah, I remember my first part-time job.
Commercial banking typically offers solid compensation and reasonable hours, though there's definitely a wide spectrum for both. Its totally possible to start as an analyst at a regional bank making $60k with 40-50 hour weeks. Doesn't take too long (3-4 years?) to get your salary above $100k as you move up through either underwriting or relationship management while keeping your hours flat.
Can you get to that role with an accounting major?
Definitely possible. Pretty sure my group just hired a new grad who was an accounting major. I think ideally you'd have at least some exposure to finance courses, if for no other reason than to demonstrate an interest in banking. But understanding basic accounting is the essential skill set most employers will want before they place you in an underwriting role. Many will assume you can learn the rest on the job.
Government roles.
Such as? I've really been considering government accounting
Check out government accounting/ budgeting/ financial management. You'll probably work exactly 9A- 5P and earn decent money and have awesome benefits. And a lot of government jobs get a pension too, which really does matter in terms of overall compensation.
Why the fuck are you on this site?
It's better than when he relentlessly asks how well people on this site do with girls
