That's easy. I thought you were gonna ask about high-paying 40-hour jobs. I was gonna say risk management. Pretty much any basic office job where you cap out at like $50-60K is those hours.

Commercial banking typically offers solid compensation and reasonable hours, though there's definitely a wide spectrum for both. Its totally possible to start as an analyst at a regional bank making $60k with 40-50 hour weeks. Doesn't take too long (3-4 years?) to get your salary above $100k as you move up through either underwriting or relationship management while keeping your hours flat.

Definitely possible. Pretty sure my group just hired a new grad who was an accounting major. I think ideally you'd have at least some exposure to finance courses, if for no other reason than to demonstrate an interest in banking. But understanding basic accounting is the essential skill set most employers will want before they place you in an underwriting role. Many will assume you can learn the rest on the job.

Check out government accounting/ budgeting/ financial management. You'll probably work exactly 9A- 5P and earn decent money and have awesome benefits. And a lot of government jobs get a pension too, which really does matter in terms of overall compensation.
