Anybody have any insight into film finance?

Film finance isn't a topic that's really talked about too much. Does anybody have any insight on how one starts a career in financing film (documentaries, films, movies etc.)? How are film financing deals even structured? Are funds raised or is fund raised on a film by film basis? What are the economics and structure of film deals? What's the day to day job like? Presumably it's a hits business thus risk capital should be compensated for it.

Film finance would be a really cool topic to learn about if anybody has any intel.

Hi packmate, no, I never sleep and so I can respond to any lonely threads (like this one) at all hours of the night. Impressive, I know ;-)
