Essec/Bocconi Msc Finance: Admission

Hello,

I'm an Italian of 23 years old, currently doing the first year of the MSc Finance at ESSEC. Last year, I also received admission to the MSc finance in English at Bocconi but, unfortunately, too late (the result was delayed in July while is usually given by the end of May). Now, I'm planning to re-apply this year, including also MSc AFC in english as part of the choices, and I wanted to know if, in your opinion, they are going to reject me just because i did not enroll last year/or because I would start at 23 y.o. As of know, when I spoke with admission office, they did not seem bothered by these facts and helped me with the application.

My profile:

  • Bachelor's GPA (29/30)

  • GMAT 710

  • WE/Volunteer/etc fine.

Thanks!

If you won't get admitted this year it's probably because of the competition. I don't think age or the fact that you didn't take the offer last year matter at all, but nobody here has an absolute answer to your question. The only way to find out is by applying. In my opinion, with Essec on your cv you have even better chances now than last year.

Why are you leaving Essec for Bocconi?

Thanks for the reply, nice to hear that. In fact, is not for a reason linked to the schools themselves, but idk i was thinking what if one day i want to return to Italy to work (like 10+ years) will I be able to do so if I dont have an Italian degree?

I'm currently in my first year of the MSc Finance at Bocconi and would be confident that its not an issue. I'm an international student and 23 but most of the other internationals are like 25.

Really enjoying it. It's definitely very technical and quite challenging but that's good in my opinion. Great feeder into IB jobs in London as well if that's what you want to do.
