Transitioning from Big 4 to MBB in Toronto, post-MBA - potential options

I will be finishing my MBA from Rotman in 2021 May and will be joining one of the Big 4s as a Senior Consultant in September. This is a conversion from my summer intern in the same practice.

I am in the top 10% of the cohort, with good presence in the MBA club ecosystem. Prior to my MBA, I have had 5 years of engineering WE, where I received 3 promotions during my stint.

I feel like I settled for a safer option with the Big 4 firm, as a newcomer to the country by not networking heavily with the other firms. However, I would like to gauge my chances from hereon:

  1. Do I seek to apply to the MBBs within 1-2 years of working at Big 4 firm? I do understand that I need to show that I outperformed my cohort. How good are my chances?

  1. Are there opportunities to seek out during 2021 Fall for Just-in-Time recruitment?

  1. How should I go about preparing myself from now on?
