US Universities for Exchange Year
Hello, I am a Spanish student who will go on an Exchange program to an American university in the 2021 Fall semester.
My university offers these options as the ones which are most prominent.
How would you rank them 1-8? (obviously I should put Wharton #1, but I don't think I will be chosen to go there)
University of Pennsylvania – Wharton
University of Michigan
Georgetown University
University of Texas, Austin
Boston College
University of North Carolina Chapel Hill
Emory-Goizueta
University of Illinois Urbana
Thanks in advance!
Wharton
Michigan
North Carolina
UT Texas
Georgetown
Emory
Illinois
Thanks!! And where would Boston College go?
Not 100% clear, but I would say below UT Texas, but again not sure
What are we ranking them on? True college experience? Best overall experience (city and prestige)? I’d imagine as a exchange student these don’t really matter too much for recruiting.
Mainly prestige (specially related to the finance industry), but also overall experience I guess
I would rank them something like this then:
1) UPenn; 2) Georgetown; 3) Boston College; 4) Michigan; 5) UT Austin; 6) UNC; 7) Emory; 8) Illinois.
Georgetown and BC are both well regarded in finance and D.C. and Boston are much more interesting/exciting cities than the other locations (same reasoning for UT over UNC).
I assume you are doing this before your SA (2nd year on a 5 year program e.g?)
If not, this will really make not a big change to your overall CV assuming you go to a spanish target - It will not differentiate you for OC/FT
UIUC over Emory.
That sounds like ICADE E3… It is likely not going to influence your chances
gotcha🐔
