Venture Capital (Midas 100) Data Analysis
So I was really bored and decided to get some data on where the top VC investors live and studied... Pretty interesting if you are considering going into VC:
In terms of location, the bay area is king... 55/100 are in the Bay Area. Thats crazy.
For universities, I only counted US schools and divided by undergrad and grad school. Below is the raw data but the big takeaways are this:
-39% of Investors went to Stanford Grad, or HBS... Thats probably well over half who went to grad school.
-Cornell undergrad was the second most represented school, and Dartmouth had more undergrads than Yale, Princeton, and Harvard. (tied)
-Notable missing schools include: USC (probably the biggest name I would have expected), Northwestern undergrad, NYU anything (obvious more HF than VC), no CALTECH (thats crazy), Vanderbilt, Williams (best liberal arts).
