A bird in the hand? (deciding on MM FT S&T offer)

Hey guys, rising senior at a target looking for some advice.

I was fortunate enough to receive a FT offer from my internship this summer. It is at a MM bank and the offer is for S & T, which is the field I definitely want to go into. The people and experiences were great (wouldn't mind working there FT), but the pay/benefits are both below street. Although a solid work experience is up there in terms of priorities alongside money, the latter definitely makes a huge impact on my current life considering several factors (student loans, expensive city, no family wealth, etc).

I have to make my decision soon so any perspectives would be really appreciated. Mainly, how is the FT job market for S&T? Are there any banks/relevant programs that hire FT candidates this early? Or should I just take the offer and play it safe?

i work for a tier 1 MM in S&T ... i would argue this is one of the tightest job markets just based on declining # of positions (shrinking balanced sheets, Volcker rule, etc.) and high demand for trading jobs..

You shouldn't expect a high (IB) salary given higher demand in this industry & fewer hours per week than IB (50-60hrs no weekends)... only BB S&T positions get you in the $85k+ all-in vicinity for 1st year.

If its in NY and you're getting $65-75k sal + Bonus then you're ATM, other markets (LA, CHI, CHA) subtract 10%..
