Abortion for the Mentally Challenged (yes/no/maybe?)
I recently read about a 2019 Indiana law that attempted to block mentally-disabled children from being aborted. The law was challenged in court and the state of Indiana lost.
If a parent knows in advance that his or her child will have a severe mental illness that will cognitively impair the child from having much understanding above that of say a toddler, is it ethical in your mind for the parent to request an abortion or not?
I'm really straddling the fence with this question and curious to hear everyone else's thoughts.
