Accenture Strategy vs. Accenture Consulting

Hi Everyone. While I am not working at Accenture, I was wondering if anyone could explain the differences in work between Accenture Strategy and Accenture Consulting. While from a high-level, I understand what the both of them do, Accenture tends to describe Accenture Consulting more broadly. The description on the website for Accenture Consulting is "Industry experts with the insights and capabilities to transform the world’s leading companies." Accenture Strategy is "bringing together business strategy and technology strategy, equally and at unparalleled scale." Thank you very much!

I think you mean Accenture management consulting (MC) vs. strategy consulting (SC). They're two separate jobs, and right now the juicy gossip is that Accenture rolled MC and tech consulting (TC) together. Because TC now sits with MC, folks who previously didn't get TC jobs are now open season for TC staffers. All this means is that Accenture sells a lot of tech work (shocking) and wants more staffing flexibility. I also expect that they can squeeze some talent cost savings down the line with the combination, but that's neither here nor there.

SC is just Accenture's strategy consulting group specifically. Management consulting is a broad category. Strategy is better thought of as a subset or type of consulting. SC did strategy across both MC and TC before the combination.
