Accepted PE Offer - How To Get Ahead?

Hey all -

I just accepted an offer at a middle market PE fund for next Summer, and am wondering if any of you have helpful resources or suggestions on what to do to get ahead.

To give some context, I work at a tiny regional boutique bank and haven't worked on a deal larger than $100MM. While it was a good experience, I suspect that I'm not as technically sound as most other PE Associates (didn't study finance in college, great at BSing) and I eventually want to move up market to a larger fund. I'm sure most of what you learn will be on the job in PE, but I'm open to anything right now.

I've heard CFA is not all that useful if you've already broken in, and my work/life balance is pretty great right now (working 9-6 no weekends, several trips planned), so open to suggestions on how to spend my free time. Fiction, Non-Fiction, Textbooks, Modeling, whatever. I get that this is a unique time to be enjoyed, but please note this is IN ADDITION to working out/hobbies/girls/etc. because I truly have some extra free time.

Cheers!

Hi Teddy_Broosevelt9191, whoops, looks like nobody chimed in here.... maybe one of these discussions below is relevant:
