Accepted Verbal Offer, Want them to Send me an Offer Letter

It has been 6 weeks since I accepted a verbal offer to return after studies and still haven't received the offer letter. How do I bring this up with the firm? I have great relationships with an Associate and the VP in charge of my hiring and wouldn't want to offend anyone by phrasing this wrongly. How do I bring this up? How do I phrase it? Thanks again in advance!

What is the size of the place? If it has any size, an offer letter is almost entirely the responsibility of the HR department, who is probably waiting on final sign-off from an MD/Partner who is probably prioritizing a million other things.

I would email the HR dept if you have any contact there, and phrase it honestly. Something like "Hope all is well... Super excited to join the firm... Wanted to know if there is any development on next steps? Will an offer letter that I can sign be going out to me in the coming weeks? Best, ..."

If no contact with the HR department, explain the situation to the associate and ask if he knows someone you can reach out to in HR to move this along.
