accepting add invites from HR on linkedin
So, I started working full time a few months ago and have been getting linkedin invitations from HR people from firms I turned down during the recruiting process. I'd like to keep in touch with them (who knows, they may be useful contacts in the future) but I have no desire to leave my company (and it's unlikely I'll want to ever lateral to these other firms).
Not sure how it will look to my colleagues if I start accepting all these invites after only having just started. I also don't want these HR people trawling through my own contacts for headhunting purposes. What would you do?
No one cares you who connect with on Linkedin. Everyone else does the same. You can hide your connection from people who you don't want seeing who you are connected to.
hold the invitation until you need them again.
It does not matter at all, people understand that you will probably not stay with this one company for the rest of your life so setting up a network outside of work is a good idea.
