Accountant ready for career transition into project finance (Africa infrastructure)

Hi everyone,
I am an Accountant in Canada ( a few years audit with Big 4 and a few years industry experience) and after a lot of research, I am committed to starting a career in infrastructure/project finance in Africa (specifically Nigeria). I was wondering if anyone can provide some advice/guidance on what strategy I can implement to secure a job in this field? I am considering pursuing an MBA to assist me with access to intern/entry-level positions. It appears that the main sources of financing for infrastructure are the big banks and PE firms. I am half Nigerian, lived there for 10 yrs in my younger life..currently have connections there (relatives in oil and gas and real estate industries and some execs in ICT industry).

I look forward to your comments
