ACG CUP Past, Present, and Future

Hello everyone!

So the ACG CUP is going to be starting soon for my schools competition followed by the regional competition.

A few questions:

Who has/is/will be participating in the ACG CUP?

For those of you who have participated, what do you feel is the most important factors to focus more attention to?
How important is modeling everything 100% correctly?
How much is the competition like actual real world situations in IB?
Any other tips and tricks for the comp?

For those of you who are participating this year, (assuming that case studies are different for everyone's schools) what is your plan of approach you are taking?
Anything peculiar about the case?

For those of you who are planning or thinking about joining the ACG CUP in the future;
What is the ACG CUP? (From their website) The ACG Cup is a case study competition designed to give students from leading MBA programs across the country real world experience and invaluable insights into mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, financial advisory and private equity. Each case study provides students with a unique opportunity to present valuation, capital markets and M&A strategic advice to a panel of seasoned M&A professionals from within the ACG community. The competition is carried out through a series of intra-school and regional competitions, with regional winners awarded the prestigious ACG Cup title and cash awards.

Why will this benefit me? It's hands on experience that puts you in front of professionals in the industry from IB to corporate finance and everything in between. They get to give you feedback on what you're doing and pick your brain about what you did so you can understand more thoroughly about the industry (if you don't have any experience in it yet, like me)

Any other questions, feel free to ask. We get our case study in the next few days with the presentation on the 10th.
